China requires censoring all computers

hi,we all know that Blocking websites is not the job for this software,it's some state firm's job,if you hate one thing ,there is no need to make it urgly with something not it's duty.you know why some west media are disliked by us,for example, they like to bash CCP or China but many times know little about an single event and like to talk it with a big mouth.
sure it's stupid to have a software in computer,i will not install it and you make it a internet killer, sorry, this will not make you wise in my eyes,we know it ,and how **** it is

as i said ,brainwashing is not in one way.
you got wrong messages but you think it's truth ,but the truth is you just get part of the truth with purpose.
trust me chinese goverment will do some change with it ,and no one would like to use it,we just treat it as a joke now.
but maybe some parents will use it to keep their kids not touch lust things, and this is the official saying about why they pay for it
but we ======f@@k your stupid software and action

You mean like netnanny.

Did that make sense...?

People must understand the difference between invasion of privacy and censorship .

If the Chinese people are happy with the Govt invading their privacy on the pretext of "blocking unhealthy" websites then well and good.

China delays mandatory installation of controversial filtering software _English_Xinhua

BEIJING, June 30 (Xinhua) -- China will delay the mandatory installation of the controversial "Green Dam-Youth Escort" filtering software on new computers, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) said here Tuesday.

The pre-installation was delayed as some computer producers said such massive installation demanded extra time, said the ministry.

All computers produced or sold in China were scheduled to be installed with such software after July 1, according to MIIT's previous announcement.

The ministry would continue to provide a free download of the software and equip school and Internet bar computers with it after July 1, said a spokesman with MIIT.

The ministry would also keep on soliciting opinions to perfect the pre-installation plan, he said.

The software is designed to block violence and pornographic contents on the Internet to protect minors. It could also help parents control how much time their children spent online.

Reactions mixed over plan to filter Net access in China

BEIJING, June 27 (Xinhua) -- Should every computer in China be installed with a filter software? And should the government make a decision before making the software known to the public and listening to their views?

Heated debates have arisen since the government said earlier this month that all computers sold in China would have to include software packages for filtering out online pornography. Full story

ZHENGZHOU, June 24 (Xinhua) -- The head of a software company in central China's Henan Province said Wednesday that his company had been harassed by hacker attacks and threat calls because of its controversial product - the Internet filter software "Green Dam".

Zhang Chenmin, general manager of Jinhui Computer System Engineering Co based in Zhengzhou City, which won the bid to develop the "Green Dam-Youth Escort" last year, told Xinhua that his company has had more than 1,000 harassing calls and even death threats since early this month. Full story

****-filtering software: It's up to users

BEIJING, June 16 -- Computer makers are required to include a government-sponsored ****-filtering software but it is up to buyers to decide whether they want to use it, an official said Monday.

"PC makers are only required to save the setup files of the program in the hard drives of the computers, or provide CD-ROMs containing the program with their PC packages," an official at the department of software service in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), who spoke on condition of anonymity, told China Daily Monday. Some say the Green dam code was stolen from Netnanny ...

Protests have also flown from Solid Oak Software, a California-based company that says Green Dam stole from its programming code. Solid Oak says it has found proprietary files in Green Dam copied from the company's own Web content control product, CyberSitter.

Chinese are stealing codes too :LOL:Is this all they can do ....copy & paste.

Where is the dude who was saying china has the maximum number of PHd Students and computer graduates.

Anyway

Also it is vulnerable and all computers who install this will eventually end up as parts of a very large botnet.

Well, what you said is a kind of discrimnation against Chinese people. You are from the largest democratic country, right? I can also say: Is this kind of decrimnation very common in india as a democratic society?

Yes, copy right problems do exist in China, much more serious than in any developed countries. As all developing courntries, China has a lot of problems, and we are solving them step by step. The most important thing is: we know we are in the right direction, no matter what other guys say about us. We don't simply follow other countries route. (this time, we don't just copy & paste :))

Yes, maybe China has the most Phds in software science. I think it is because we have large population and many many universities. Anyway, it is a good thing for these guys because they've got educated and have opporutnities to get jobs, and that is exactly what the Chinese government want.

(to all the indian friends worring about what is happenning on the net in china)
Actually the application of the so-called green dam software has been delayed by the overwhelming disagreement thought the net, no one knows what would happen in the future maybe canceled maybe not. but smart netizens as the many chinese are, there are lot of way to get thought it.

say hello to all the pakistani friends!

Why did the west make a such fuss about this? The US does not care if Chinese people have freedom of speech or basic human right, an appalling fact is:there is a huge economic interest behind all these. Pre-installation of the domestic build software gives Chinese government a weapon to oust any foreign software that does not meet it's requirement, this of course put western media giants in a very inferior position.

What's in US's best interest is to have it's enemy (sometimes allies) in a status of chaos, disaster, and disorder. Every flame stirred up by the west will eventually down to economic drive

Learn to write proper English before pointing towards anyone else......India is a forward looking democracy and the government does not and can not restrict anyones fundamental rights....

Yeah we known India has been GB's largest colony for over one hundred years and slaves usually speak master's language, so that's sth for Indians to be proud of?

See you must understand the difference the infringement of IPR, Violation of copyright and stealing.

The code is stolen by People Republic of China and is being used.

I hope you see the difference. ;)

Let's make it clear, we won the war 70 years ago. they never concured china, though they've tried to and tried their best, the Japs ends up with the fate no better than Mongals and Manchus and surrendered to the people they tried to enslave.

The war 70 years ago was an unsuccessful attempt to concur China for the Japanese and they deserve their failure for their stupid stratedge and self arogance. To say from the invaders‘ view, however, i would like to admit that there are times, though rare, i feel sorry for the Japs for what they screwed up may be the only chance for them to concur china with in the past and future 2000 years.

And instead it is our characters they've learned to use in their language thousands of years ago.

BTW i would feel sorry too if you all use Hindus in speaking, for i better understand english than your languages.

I have no interest in who won or lost.

The point was that your logic was dumb and should have made you Japanese if anyone went by it since they occupied your country.

I think you meant you understand english better in your last line...if you meant anything else my apologies since such sophisticated english is above my head.
