China offers to finance 30 per cent of India’s infrastructure development plan - Economic Times


NEW DELHI: China wants to fund a big chunk of India's infrastructure development even though previous attempts have been rebuffed by a government nervous about allowing its neighbour to enter critical areas such as telecom or power over security worries.

But that hasn't discouraged the Chinese from making a concerted bid that envisages its companies and workers getting deeply involved in upgrading India's decrepit rail, road and power infrastructure besides telecom.

It depends on Pakistan's need for infrastructure and governmental budget for capital expenditure, if the contracted project exceeds the real need, Pakistan would probably not go for it, everyone should consider the feasibility of financing, implementation and economy. Because in this case, it's a huge amount, and China only can hold 30% shares up to limited, the rest government fund is provided by GOI. What I mean is this is totally Pakistan's choice, if Pakistan need it, China won't hesitate even a little, to help.
