if you ask where is the slums in china, most people will say they don't know. but if you ask where is the "village in city ", they all know it. so why no slums exist in china? because chinese is a socialist state, all property of land is belong to government, anybody cannot construct the building except getting the permission from government. in order to figure out the problem that too many people flood into city, the government acquiesce in constructing the building by personal who own the temporary right of property of the land(about 70 years for person having the right of property), so the person who have a right of property of land must be a rich man, so the building they made must be look better, because most of owner of building also live in their building. in the other side, most of manufacturing supply the free apartment and food for worker as a kind of welfare, housing conditions not too bad, four people live in one room or more, private bathroom. so that's the reason why many chinese above say the china didn't have slums. there are having several pictures,.

I don't know the rent fee of " village in city" in other place, I only can take a example from shenzhen. one of most rich city in China. In village in city, the rent fee is about 60 dollars per month for single room including bathroom. about 100 dollars per month for one room including one living room, one kitchen and one bathroom. the average salary per month about 400 dollars may be higher. but ShenZhen is the richest city in China, you cannot think that is the average level of china. In the inland of china, the salary more lower, may be 200 dollars per month, but the rent fee also lower, even more.Notice that its the average of China, I know there are poorest people in china, they live in remote mountain, they didn't have electricy and road, because the price of construction of road is too hign, you know that. the people I just talk about is only very small part of chinese, may be 0.0001% of chinese, unless they move out of the remote mountain, they cannot change their life.
china is not a rich country, most of people still work hard to support their family. there are many problem in china, corruption, food safety, the price of medicine is hign, many people didn't have enough money to buy flat, and so on. but I think no chinese worry about the food, because if he have a work, even if a part job, he never feel hungry. that's my opinion, but china is too big, may be in some place where have special situation......you know, I just a citizen in ShenZhen.
