China confronts Indian navy vessel

India's landmass with its deccan plateau foraying into the indian ocean is a tremendous advantage which I think Indian strategic planners have conveniently overlooked. Also the strategic position of andaman and Nicobar Islands should be used as an outpost to South East Asia.

No one has overlooked it. Just that Indian strategic planners have been too overcautious. This is just about individuals and things can change very quickly.

no country has a right to ask any other country what it is doing in international waters on the high seas under international law .

If this is true then this is Chinese arrogance at display again .

Then why the heck is India always accusing China for "illegally entering Indian Territory" when China sails in International Water(Indian Ocean) which India claims is her own territory ?

Sending Manmohan over, with some more business contracts for us perhaps? Closing another airfield on the border? Stopping construction on the border again?
Actually it looks as if MMS has sped up the construction of 6 more ALG's in Arunachal.

Dude ! are u serious here or talking outside your neck ?

more than 80% of chinese crude pass through malacca straights and we have never hindered them. We don't claim Indian Ocean as our back yard but surely wouldn't tolerate any other guy wolfing around either.

Our friend here is too influenced by some alarmist stories that come out in the media.

His country is lucky that the people making policies in China are a bit more knowledgeable and nuanced.

Meanwhile at least some sections of the Chinese media are doing a decent job of reporting about India.

As per media reports PLAN ship also asked IN ship to explain its presence there (in the high seas) which no self self respecting Navy would tolerate.

Indian Navy denies reports on confrontation with Chinese warship
Indian Navy denies reports on confrontation with Chinese warship - Indian Express

The Indian Navy today denied reports that a Chinese warship had confronted its assault vessel after it left Vietnamese waters in late July in the disputed South China Sea.

"The INS Airavat returned from its scheduled official deployment to Vietnam without any confrontation with a Chinese vessel," Navy spokesperson Commander P V S Satish said in a release.

In a report carried by Financial Times in London, it was said that an unidentified Chinese warship had demanded that the INS Airavat, an amphibious assault vessel, identify itself and explain its presence in the South China Sea.

The London-based paper said, that the Indian warship was in international waters after completing a scheduled port call in Vietnam.

It had termed the actions of the Chinese warship as the latest example of Beijing's assertiveness which had irked India and Vietnam

Fake propaganda by the west to stir up conflict between India and China. Good thing our media stepped in. India and China both should call out London on their false reporting.
