China calls on Turkey to halt military incursion in Syria and ‘return to right track’

And China should free Tibet and stop invading Vietnam.

There's five areas China should focus on before calling out Turkey, When East Turkestan is created, and Tibet is freed, and Hong Kong is given back to Britain, and Taiwan is forever free from the mainland, and China respects the waters of Vietnam and other claims in the South China Seas... After all that, then China can lecture Turkey on the Kurds issue. Otherwise China is trolling Turkey.

We are trolling, so what?

Tibet is part of China, any country says no? and China is invading Vietnam? when and how?

That's China's official position, other countries can have theirs, China never expects other countries see eye to eye with us on different international issues. we don't serve others in UN, other don't serve us either, we all have independent foreign policies.

Remember how China ditched us in 2018 which led to us in grey list of FATF. KSA and China bailed on us , while Turkey was the only one supporting us.

Unlike some pakistanis, I am not a default supporter of China.
China as a UNSC permanent member doesn't do something serving no purpose other than hurting China's global image. even China supported you, the result would be the same, just China and Turkey won't change anything in the end. we are a practical country,we know where we should insist and where to compromise.
Believe me, if China stays out of this, Pakistan won't be any place better than what it is now.

Pakistan Escapes FATF Blacklist As China Led Terror Financing Watchdog Keeps It On Grey List

On the outright support extended by Turkey, China and Malaysia, the FATF decided not to include Pakistan on the blacklist and give it more time to implement the remaining measures.

Remember I said KSA and China. I didn't include Turkey.
Siding with Arabs and Chinese on every foreign policy issue has been a disaster for Pakistan. Pakistan should think about itself and not of Chinese interest. I hope Pakistanis reading your post will realize.

I know Chinese mentality. It is unfortunate people in Pakistan don't . But I am glad they are slowly realizing it.

You and your government have every right to rearrange or re prioritize your foreign policies based on your national interests, no other countries have any rights to say anything about it. I fully respect that.

But do Pakistan have that flexibility? I mean West has used Pakistan and now that they don't need you, they are cornering you on all fronts.

China has been saving you from complete and total isolation. You want to piss of China?

We still hold some very good cards. I have less to blame on West and China and more to blame our civili-military leadership. The only reason why Pakistan's economy is in this state is because of their stupidity.

Your assertions that west is cornering Pakistan on all fronts is fundamentally wrong and flawed. I understand your gangu mindset because of retarded Indian media but it is nothing like that. The word " isolated " is used and abused by Indians and hold no value. Go back to watching Arnab goswami.

FATF is a small inconvenience that we should get take care of in coming 6-8 months. The important thing is to remain focused on Kashmir and India. That should be the priority for Pakistan. China and West do not pose existential threat to Pakistan. Rabid Hindutva does and it should be taken care of. India is and always be enemy number one.

.
China always has a nuclear option in UN, the veto power in UNSC. So different minor bills passed by UN subsidiary agencies don't concern China much, many of them are against China too.

FATF is a small inconvenience that we should get take care of in coming 6-8 months.

You had 15 months to take care of it and you didn't do anything other than make small progress. And you expect to turn it around in 6 months? lol okay

Your assertions that west is cornering Pakistan on all fronts is fundamentally wrong and flawed.

Let's see, you forced China to call upon a urgent unsc meeting to denounce India, no statement came out.

Your prime minister gave a Kashmir India Modi centric speech, not one world power even took notice. Or even asked India to do what Pakistan asked.

Pakistan was confident to get into whitelist. now they are celebrating being in grey list and avoiding sliding into black, and consider it a win.

Sure West is Rooting for Pakistan and making it the next Singapore.

The important thing is to remain focused on Kashmir and India. That should be the priority for Pakistan.

Yeah you see this is what I expected after UNGA. But Imran Khan is more concerned about Iran Saudi Turkey. He is ready to support Turkeys war but saying he's pacifist when it comes to war with India?

So good luck with Kashmir lol.

China calls on Turkey to halt military incursion in Syria and ‘return to right track’
  • Beijing joins global condemnation of attack launched by Ankara on Kurdish fighters after US President Donald Trump decided to pull out troops
  • Foreign ministry spokesman says issue should be resolved with ‘political solutions’ and the operation may result in a revival of Islamic State

China has urged Turkey to stop the military offensive it began in northeastern Syria last week and “return to the right track”.

Beijing is the latest to join global condemnation of the cross-border attack launched by Ankara on Kurdish fighters last Wednesday following US President Donald Trump’s decision to withdraw US troops from the region.

Foreign ministry spokesman Geng Shuang on Tuesday called for a ceasefire.
“The Chinese side has always opposed the use of force in international relations and has advocated for adherence to the Charter of the United Nations, and to resolve problems through political and diplomatic channels,” Geng said during a regular press briefing, when asked about Beijing’s position on the situation.

“Sovereignty, independence, unification and territorial integrity should be respected and protected,” he said. “We urge Turkey to halt military action and to return to the right track, resolving the issue with political solutions.”

Geng also said the “anti-terrorism situation in Syria is still severe”, and the military operation could result in a comeback by Islamic State.

“We urge Turkey to take responsibility and work with the international community in fighting against terrorism,” he said.

Trump’s move has drawn sharp criticism from around the world. Critics say he has abandoned the allies that helped fight against Isis, and that withdrawing troops could pave the way for a resurgence of the jihadist group whose violent takeover of Syrian and Iraqi land five years ago was the reason US forces went in.

The US president said about 1,000 US troops who had been partnering with local Kurdish fighters to battle Islamic State in northern Syria were leaving the country. He said they would remain in the Middle East to “monitor the situation” and to prevent a revival of Isis – a goal that even Trump’s allies say has become much more difficult as a result of the US pull-out.

Turkey says the offensive aims to remove the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces from the border area and create what it calls a “safe zone” to relocate 1 million Syrian refugees.

Facing mounting criticism, Trump on Monday announced
sanctions would be imposed
on Turkey, halted bilateral trade negotiations and called for an immediate ceasefire.
Vice-President Mike Pence also said Trump was sending him to the Middle East because the president was concerned about instability in the region.

Beijing has long worried that conflict in the region could spill over to Chinese soil after thousands of Uygurs
– the Turkic-speaking Muslim minority from far western China – travelled to Syria to train and fight as jihadists.

Poor foreign policy decision by China.

All these powerful nations are denying Turkey the right to protect its borders.

They have no such right.

Pakistan will fully support Turkey.

It's perfectly ok for friendly countries differ on different issues, nothing is more natural than this, every country has their own interest to look after and I don't know why some think it is a "betrayal".

China and Pakistan are on opposite camps over Turkey's invasion of Syria, and we don't think this disagreement is a big deal, just a natural occurrence.

China, Worried About Uighur Terrorists, Want To Stop Erdogan; Its Ally Pakistan Differs
By James Patterson

China and Pakistan, called "closest friends, staunch partners and iron brothers" by Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan, may be facing a test of their friendship over Turkey’s decision to take military action into northern Syria to battle Syrian Kurdish People's Protection Units (also called YPG).

Turkey’s assault on the YPG was an almost immediate reaction to President Donald Trump's decision to withdraw U.S. troops from the area where they had been fighting along with the YPG against ISIS terrorists. The move was either an “abandonment” of Kurdish troops or an attempt to reverse relations with Turkey that had soured when the U.S.-YPG alliance was formed by Trump’s predecessor Barack Obama.

Pakistan and Turkey have been allies since 1954 when they signed a treaty of friendship and cooperation. Both nations are members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and Turkey is a major arms seller to Pakistan. Prime Minister Khan called Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Friday to "convey Pakistan's support and solidarity," according to Khan’s office.

The confusion can be eased a bit by looking at the motivations of each country directly involved:

Turkey - The troubles in Syria have resulted in approximately two million Syrian refugees in Turkey that Ankara wants to resettle in a “safe zone” in Syria. Turkey views the YPG as a "terrorist" offshoot of Kurdish insurgents.

China – China is currently conducting a massive crackdown on members of the separatist East Turkistan Islamic Movement (ETIM). The crackdown includes internment camps that the Chinese call “re-education facilities” where over one million Uighur Muslims are being held probably in deplorable conditions. Beijing is concerned that the Turkish action could lead to the escape of many ISIS militants, many of them Uighur who could return to the volatile Xinjiang province in China and re-ignite violence.

India – India sides with China in this issue which is not surprising given that India’s relationship with Pakistan has been filled with hostility and suspicions. India last week said it was "deeply concerned" over the "unilateral military offensive" by Turkey in northeastern Syria and asserted that the action can undermine stability in the region as well as the fight against terrorism.

Syria – the country is embroiled in a civil war between Ba'athist Syrian Arab Republic led by President Bashar al-Assad, along with domestic and foreign allies, and various domestic and foreign forces against a slew of enemies wanting to topple the government. The true victims are the refugees and the “innocents” caught in the crossfire.

Have you seen the extent of claim China lays to South China Sea? What bullshit, no justification either.

Turkey has every right to set up a safe buffer zone. The territory is controlled by a terrorist organization and not by the Syrian Government, when the territory is back under Syrian Government, they can discuss.

5 days after condemnation by Europe and the US...China falls in line like a Western puppet. Someday they’ll have their own foreign policy....

.
I dont support the Turkish actions not because they are attacking the Kurdish fifth column as I see the Kurds as a threat to stabilty in Syria but Turkey if dont come to a agreement with Damascus could get into a quagmire unfortunately many Pakistanis are mental slaves when it comes to Turkey and brotherhood crap but reality is Turkey caused this mess on their border years ago when they were pounding against Damascus

.
Turkey are doing whats best for their borders. Pakistan should offer full support. Hopefully Turkey will back Pakistan in capturing Iranian oil fields when desert storm 3 kicks off.
