What's new

China builds rail-based mobile ship target in remote desert, for the experiment of China's anti-ship ballistic missile

Chinese are building the “Shell Game”, WOW :o:

could be, but also maybe not.

nuclear silos are pretty much built to survive anything but a direct hit and spaced part enough that no single hit could take out two at the same time.
how many silos are filled is only dependent on how much china budgeted for the warheads and full construction and many it think is enough for a full second strike, in face of next generational air and ballistic defences.

Concrete and steel is cheaper then missiles and warheads, but down the line, it’s not inconceivable that China may fill up those silos and the rest of the world wouldn’t know.

The spacing, the roadways and the general shape of the missile field reminded me of the old MX basing designs.

What’s past is prologue to the new Cold War it seems as China becomes what has been feared for a long time, a true full spectrum peer competitor, and its building a comparable strategic force to match the US and the Russkies.

Please send your comfort message to USA. I think they need this kind of "good news" badly.

Oh sorry, I forgot that you also need such good news. My bad.
Nonsense why should I comfort anyone. Unrealistic to put ICBMs in large number in one place.

1. The silos are built hardened and distant enough so one single hit cannot take out two.
2. LOW (launch on warning) is also an option to PLA rocket force. The infrared satellites that you bragged on behalf of your American daddy is not magic. China owns and operates it too.

yes China is very powerful

they are dreaming of taking out station bat targets in desert

China is scared of Women tennis player and painters and artists who go missing when they share their opinion

and you are dreaming of beating the Royal Navy? really ? total fanboy

the distance two silos is about 500m judging the picture. Not a serious challenge to target then with multiple low yields just drop them close enough to the silos. Infrared satellites plus spies on the ground can differentiate between good and fake silos. Then good night.
I mean we are talking here for fun.
Nobody will survive a nuclear war.

Land-based test system is excellent, less disturbance to busy commercial shipping, and less vulnerable to enemy electronic spying.

LOL! You can try to hide such a test against something like that. Tried to hide the hypersonic weapons test, what makes you think you can hide this? Anytime you fire a missile, its gonna show in seconds.
True. That's why the track is not a straight line. Going forward, with the expansion of the test facilities, guess we can see more complicated tracks systems and multiple targets with different sizes, like a normal fleet with carriers / destroyers/ other supporting vessels.

You want a real test, ask Iran to build a mockup carrier and put some SAMs and EW systems on it while it maneuvers around to test it.

LOL where did you find anyone talk about hiding a test like this? A ballistic missile will be seen by any infra-red sat no matter fired from inland or near open sea, the difference I've pointed about is electronic spying (by say USN's EP-3 SIGNIT, JASDF's C-2 ELINT variant, etc), you sure you read my post before making yours?

You never seen spy satellites that have such capabilities as well? Sure people will say if ELINT satellites were capable we wouldn't need spy planes with ELINT capabilities, but we all still use spy planes with cameras even with spy satellites that also uses cameras.

You don't know we operate satellites with such capabilities, do you? And again, read, I said "less vulnerable" to electronic spying not "completely immune", what have you been reading?

Yes and the U.S. also operates such satellites. As you have pointed out, testing in the middle of the country is not completely immune to electronic spying.
