China backs Pakistan govt after Osama bin Laden's death

Here is what you said actually:

BS as usual. Who picks India? Both the USA and China are funding the Pakistani Army... you would think they know something that you don't. :azn:

hehe.. I struck a nerve didn't I? Trade and Positive perceptions are two different things. China and US are major traders but there is no love lost, is there? Anyways here is my exact post.

WRT Bold part, Japanese literally did that. What are you doing about it? Isn't that embarrassing? Speeches are easy to make from either side.

Why not have a poll in Asia for 'who is more trust worthy America or China'?, you would get your answer. Even after the nuclear attack on them, Japanese would still pick America.

Except for few rouge countries no one would pick you.

Who picks India?

Soviet Union did apparently in 1971. They were willing to nuke China if you attack us. US did in 1962. US again in 2001 during Kargil war. China conspicuously stood silent. They weren't supporting their best buds, don't know what happened. Anyways, Why not try attack us we'll see who supports who?

PS: Next time start wearing glasses before you read.

hehe.. I struck a nerve didn't I?

Seems to be a talent of the Indian members here. :D

Just ask the Chinese members, the Pakistani members, the Sri Lankan members, the Nepali members, the Bangladeshi members... see what they say about you guys.

This is India's crowning achievement (since having more poor people than Africa, doesn't really count as an achievement.)

P.S. I have no issues with the USA, in fact their goals seem to cooincide with ours at the moment. We both want to maintain the global status quo, and we both help to fund/support the Pakistani Army.

Ya, that's what happens if you start selective reading things. Surely you have better come back than the bold part. This has become few members ritual to gloat. Anyways, congrats you found out why people hate India, hehe.

I thought Chinese cities would be most polluted! Nice to see no Chinese cities on that list of shame and humiliation, being grouped with African dictatorships like Mozambique and Angola. In fact, we should note that not even Zimbabwe's capital Harare is on that list of shame.

Chinese Dragon is frustrated Pakistani ... he is offended by all the facts that India posted post Osama Incident...no prob as long as these things make pakistanis sleep better...

China blasts US government for operation that killed Osama

China has officially criticized U.S. President Barack Obama’s administration for the military operation that led to the killing of al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden.
“China holds that the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of any country should be respected,” said Jiang Yu, a spokeswoman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, according to Xinhua news agency.

The Chinese official also said that the global community should do more to help Pakistan in its efforts to fight terrorism and "give more understanding and support" to the country.

"We will continue to support Pakistan in instituting their own anti-terrorism strategies and carrying them out based on their domestic situation, and we appreciate Pakistan's active participation in the international anti-terrorism cooperation," Jiang said.

Jiang indicated that the struggle to fight terrorism remains "grim and complex.”

"The international community should boost their cooperation and make more efforts to counter the threat of international terrorism," she said.

In another press conference on Wednesday, Jiang stated that: “Pakistan is at the important forefront in the international counter-terrorism campaign. The Pakistani Government is firm in resolve and strong in action when it comes to counter-terrorism and has made important contributions to the international counter-terrorism efforts.”

She added that “China will continue to staunchly support Pakistan formulating and implementing counter-terrorism strategies based on its own national conditions and stands ready to work with South Asian countries including Indian and Pakistan to jointly safeguard regional peace and stability.”

Jinag also pointed out that China itself has been fighting terrorism.

"Some terrorist forces are engaged in great many terrorist activities for the purpose of splitting China and seriously threatens China's internal security and regional peace and stability," she said.

"Combating East Turkestan terrorist forces is important part of international counter-terrorism campaign and the international community should step up coop to fight against terrorism together."

Uighur separatists in Xingjian are seeking to establish an independent country to be called East Turkestan.

:china::pakistan:

It inspire us when China use strong voices today in supporting their struggle bad reputation sad face Pakistan (in reverse remember China was struggled in the old times when Pakistan supported to make China stronger ever)...

what I dont understand is why is it that Drones were not an infringement on the sovereignty of Pakistan, but a navy seal operation is. In my view, either both are or both arent. As a matter of fact, a drone attack to take out Osama may have resulted in a much wider collateral damage to innocents than this attack...

China is no way strong enough to project it's power against the USA in military terms. The USA is still the sole superpower. But China will always supply and support Pakistan, as well as use our diplomatic/economic influence in their favour. And even the chance of getting into a war with China, should be enough to keep them off.

I wouldn't worry though. America has never once directly attacked a nuclear armed nation.Think about the Georgian war in 2008. America backed off instantly, as soon as Russia entered.

Even North Korea, with their one or two fission devices, can scare off the USA. They even made multiple, lethal attacks on US allies (South Korea), and they were able to get away with it easily.

well all the past scenarios that you have quoted have not had direct american intersts in them...
north korea has been at war with america slely because of their embrace of socialism...
gerogia the same reason...america wanted to free as much of the cis from russian influence as possible...
in fact most of the maerican wars...no wait all of the american wars prior to afghanistan and iraq(not desret storm) have been serving passive american interests...
When it'd come to direct American interests...one can only imagine how insanely strong their resolve is going to be...
and frankly the possibility of a Sino-American war would scare the chinese more than it'd scare the yanks...be it anything...your ability to procure oil and other resources and keep your industries running...your fighter jets...anything...because 10 years down the line China would easily face-up America but right now American has more clout...more influence...and the chinese growth would be pushed a lot back...

Chinese military is already too powerful for USA to handle. Once J-20 is deployed and China has three aircraft carrier battle groups and loads of amphibious warships, then China will again dominate all of Asia.

If the US dollar collapses, then it could happen sooner.

"Pakistan is at the important forefront of international war on terrorism. We have noted the Pakistan Foreign Ministry has said after the incident that it will never allow its territory to be used for terrorist activities and terrorist attacks against any country and Pakistan will continue to support the international efforts against terrorism. We respect, understand and support Pakistan's above position. China will continue to firmly support Pakistan's formulation and implementation of anti-terrorist strategies based on national conditions"
This is not a statement of unqualified support. It's hard to tell what it is. I'd say it is a statement of qualified support, a warning to Pakistan not to deviate from its stated policy or else - except for those last words, "based on national conditions." That's murky because it is subjective, and that's surely intentional.

Certainly this is a signal that China will be watching Pakistan closely. Note that this statement contains no criticism of the U.S. violation of Pakistan's sovereignty to kill OBL. That's a pretty clear indication of which way China is tilting, isn't it?

We don't even need many carriers. Just keep them submarines coming.
We are only interersted in defending our land, not projecting force to invade the USA.
It would hurt more to lose carriers together with its planes and 5000 crewmen. Losing them would result in the end of US power projection and global dominance.

In terms of military power, America is still FAR ahead of us.

However, we can defend ourselves easily enough. Even back in the 1950's Korean war, we went head-to-head with the American superpower, and pushed them completely out of North Korea.

If the "1950's China" could already do that... then I'm not too worried about China in 2011. Though it's always best to be careful.

America is only stronger than China because China hasn't yet built an oceanic global empire. The biggest "land" in the world is the ocean. Whoever rules the oceans, rules all under heaven. Every other nation are simply the subjects of the nation that rules the oceans -- yes, even if you are a big continental power with lots of population, industry and resources.

China has to reclaim the ocean. Make the ocean China's new home.

The first step to this process is to think beyond existing paradigms. Not everybody is capable of this, despite Chinese generally higher IQ. That's why I have to educate other Chinese forum members about these plainly obvious facts (duh! sea power! international relations!).
