Shariah Law is imposed in Malaysia as well, and it is pretty much the same as the Ramzan Ordinance here in PK. Prosecution and fine etc. Muslims are not served food for immediate consumption there and anyone who looks like a Malay is questioned if he is a muslim or not before he is served food for immediate consumption. They have the same exemptions that we have here for elderly, sick, menstruating women etc etc.

"Food-sellers who sell food to Muslims for immediate consumption will still be penalized under Section 15 (a) of Syariah Criminal Offences (Federal Territories) Act 1997, which states that any person who sells food/drink/tobacco to Muslims for immediate consumption during Ramadan will be prosecuted.

Food-sellers who are found guilty under this Act will be fined a maximum of RM1000 or imprisoned for a maximum term of six months or both. For second or subsequent offences they can be fined a maximum of RM2000 or imprisoned for a maximum term of one year or both. The sentence is the same for those who are caught not fasting or eating in public.

This punishment is perhaps the reason why food-sellers are particularly careful when it comes to serving food during Ramadan. If one is Malay or possesses Malay features, expect to not only be questioned by restaurant owners or workers during the day, but also to be refused service altogether."

As for death penalty, that's just ridiculous and people like these and their fatwas are irrelevant. Law is the only thing that matters and people should abide by the law. If anyone kills another because of these fatwas, that person should be sent to gallows just as Qadri was.

And what good will the propaganda do us ? We are the mango-est of people. We see, we rage, we debate and then the mods closed the thread because someones feelings got hurt. At the end of the day Pakistan is the same country as it always is and nothings changed. The least we can do is debate about such things.

I understand how this guy has no political role or say and what he says will never happen (i hope xD) . Islam is not a religion of forcing someone to have fast or don't eating in ramzan has no punishment but on moral grounds we should respect our fellow muslims fasting
