Afghanistan also made noises about growing influence of Iran.

Interesting part of article:

"Saleh in his article further states that Iran is keen on maintaining a good relation with the government of Afghanistan and on other hand wants to have relations with the political parties and Shi’ite minority groups. He also points towards Iran’s opposition for the presence of US and NATO troops in Afghanistan and Iran’s preparation to target US military installations in the region specifically Afghanistan during the emergency period.

Former Afghan spy chief Amrullah Saleh says Iran cooperates with the shi’ite minority groups through Qom region and provides financial support for the mosques and trains religious clerics of Afghanistan. He also added that the Iranian spy agency is secretly gathering information in Afghanistan and is struggling to improve its relations with various governmental organizations.

According to Saleh the Iranian revolutionary guards has more facilities than any other institution of Iran which has extraordinary and vast operations inside and outside of Iran.He said the two countries, Afghanistan and Iran has complicat

(Iran is following the same policy - though it followed this policy in Pakistan before ANY threat to Irani state existed. Pakistan was the first state which recognized Irani govt after the revolution. Infact Pakistani govt was in touch with Khomeni a year or so before the revolution.)

You call yourself Pakistani and yet you have no clue what positions Iran takes on Kashmir in International forums.

They support murder and mayhem off our Kashmiri Brothers and Sister and rape of their women by Indian Security Forces.

The support Indian position on Kashmir in every international Forum.

If that is okay with you then I question your claim about being a Patriotic Pakistani.

Going by that logic no country can be an ally of Pakistan. Not even China.

Pakistan needs to stop being a puppet state, doesn't matter which country. Pakistani to me is not a independent country, it is used by everyone

Saudi Arabia funding $100m Kabul mosque and education centre

Saudis move to bolster influence in Afghanistan with hilltop complex due to be completed two years after Nato withdrawal.

Saudi Arabia has been one of the key players in the turbulent decades since the Soviet invasion at the end of 1979, influencing both religion and politics in Afghanistan.

The Saudis were a major funder of mujahideen in Afghanistan, sending millions of dollars to Pakistan-based groups to pay for weapons and other supplies. When civil war broke out it helped sponsor a peace deal, even bringing top Afghan commanders to Mecca to swear they would respect the agreement – although it fell apart almost immediately.

After the rise of the Taliban, Saudi Arabia was one of only three countries to recognise the hardline regime, but since its fall in 2001 it has remained a generous donor to the western-backed government of Hamid Karzai. More recently it helped lay the groundwork for efforts to negotiate an end to the war. Saudi diplomats have kept a lower profile than others though.

The new centre will likely have a large pool of applicants. Religious schools mostly funded by private individuals and Saudi institutions have spread the kingdom's strict Wahhabi branch of Islam inside Afghanistan and Pakistan – and all Afghans hope to travel there on the hajj pilgrimage at least once in their lifetime.

Afghanistan paid a heavy price for being next door to Soviet Union and became the location for the Super Powers ( the US and the Soviets ) to have their Proxy Wars like Vietnam and Korea. We are reaping what was sowed here by these Super Powers.

First install trustworthy government in Pakistan whom people of Pakistan can trust, than we should talk about others

People like you will belittle yourselves for the approval of others.

We have a democratically elected govt.

Iran has a theocratic / mullah dictatorship.

iran can be trusted provided both of us dont play proxy games with one another and dont back stab each other

Help me understand why your country stands behind India for Massacre of Hundreds of Thousands of Kashmiris since 1990. Hundreds of thousands of Kashmiri women have been raped by Indian armed forces.

Yet on every International Forum, Iran stands with India on Kashmir Issue.

So how can you claim to be our friend and be oblivious to this injustice against our Brothers and Sisters ?

To you this may be a shallow issue, but for us it is a matter of life and death issue.

So please spare me the sweet harmony and the song and a dance.

Your nation does not stand with us where it counts for us.

As for Pakistani Politicians who turn a blind eye to that are just as evil for us.

Unlike Iran, our major friends Turkey and KSA have never voted against Pakistan on Kashmir.

That my friend is the difference between you and them.

You make it sound like the entire identity of purpose Pakistan is Kashmir.
USA is one of the biggest allies of Pak. and USA is also the biggest ally of Israel. If USA and Pak. can be allies then why can't Iran and India be? How does that make them anymore backstabber to Pak. than Pak. being a backstabber to Pak. itself.

The real question is........ why do some Pakistanis feel that other nations owe Pakistan something or anything really??
