Can India sustain its growing military spending?

LOL, it's simple because economically you don't have much better options. Not because they are some state of the art as compared to international competitors. But luckily India can still afford foreign stuff with robust (if not great) economy and good enough defense budget, which gives the luxury for our defense decision makers to easily reject home made stuff with ease. Understood Mr. Genius. [emoji38][emoji38][emoji38][emoji38]
Still you went for a cheap t-90 instead of western tanks hahahaha. BTW our all Khalid best suit our needs and is an asset compare to arjun a liability. And for your little information, every powerful country needs to have indigenous industry shouldn't be dependent on others

Now are you saying that your Al-Khalid is better or even comparable to T-90 ??? Do you have a single fighter in PAF Arsenal which is comparable with SU-30 ???:lol::lol::lol:

And for your little information, every powerful country needs to have indigenous industry shouldn't be dependent on others

This is very much relative. Powerful in what sense ???? What I know is a powerful nation is build on the backbone of a robust economy, everything else will eventually follow. China is a living example. :-)

And money speaks a lot my friend. FYI, We will be soon start inducting T-14 Armata, just wait and watch. :)

Foolish quoting clearly tells your knowledge level. Sticking to topic, forceful induction of 3 tejas pretty much proves how badly it failed. 124 arjun were inducted and more than half aren't operational and further induction was halted due to weight issues so better get some knowledge before quoting. Al Khalid and JF-17 projects are called successful not tejas and arjun

Forceful induction? Says who?
You?
No one cares for your confirmation bias that you have cultivated over years of being in pdf.
Induction of Tejas only started last year, you expect a whole fleet in a year?
Stop being obstinate.

Only 5 days ago Tejas SP7 had its maiden flight, is that failure?
So do keep crying, we will keep inducting Tejas.

Classic troll, relies on old news, Arjuns have already have had their spares replaced and are not grounded anymore.
As for weight, doublespeak by IA, they want new systems like mine ploughs and want weight reduction as well because that is possible.

AlKhalid and JFT are hardly pakistani so lets just not compare those with our stuff.
Maybe comeback after you have more than 2% contribution in those projects.

al Khalid and jf-17 not Pakistan made says who? You? Nobody gives a damn about it. 200 Al Khalid 1 being inducted currently are Pakistan owned and technology for tanks engines will be transferred to Pakistan with these 200 engines from Ukraine. Al Khalid 2 our totally own project will start soon. 2% ?? With the technology of engine Al Khalid will be totally ours kiddo. Now let's come to JF-17. 58% JF-17 block 2 jet is produced in Pakistan. Other than engine block 3 will be completely produced here. How come you say JF-17 is not our product when we have signed the deal for selling JF-17 to 2 countries and the third deal is being negotiated? I mean your statement doesn't makes any sense at all. Only 3 tejas are in service which were forcefully inducted despite the fact that JF-17 which started later than tejas have 86 jets in service, 2 dual seater produced taking total to 88 while 12 more will be produced before the completion of this fiscal year 2017-18. Only 3 tejas are in service which were inducted forcefully to honour that tejas. Your navy recently rejected tejas. Originally tejas was built to be produced massively to replace mig-21 and mig-27 and I can't see that happening currently. 124 arjun were inducted and further induction has stopped. More than half of those arjun tanks are not operational and this is a fact. Indian army openly rejected arjun and DRDO was asked to look towards arjun weight. If you have ever studied about land wars than you would have known that 60 ton tank fights only on desert or semi desert terrain so it cannot be used everywhere. If that crap arjun is so successful than why you are running behind more t-90s, why not arjun?

Relative to other countries India's military is not modernizing but backdating.:lol:

Nope!!! We are soon going to collapse into 30/40 new countries and will become China centric. I myself planning to be a PM of one of newly made country and will join one belt one road  ;)

We all know why JF-17 backed out of the Bahrain airshow at the last minute when you lot saw that Tejas too was about to perform, so lets not kid ourselves.

This is what the PAC website says.
"Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) holds the exclusive rights of 58% of JF-17 airframe co-production work."
That's the airframe not the components inside, so think twice about lying.
And if you are confused because of that echo chamber you have locked yourself into, here, from the PAC website.
This is all you "make".

You are selling to other countries because China is allowing you.

You can keep saying the same thing but we are already scaling up production.
It won't always be 3 in a year, also its 5 Tejas since induction that are flying and which have done upwards of 600 sorties.
HAL has initiated the investment of 1331 crore into ramping up production to 16 Tejas a year.
You telling me its "forced" when new production facilities are being opened and crores are being spent?
You are just deluding yourself into believing that Tejas is a failure when everything related to Tejas right about now is picking up speed, I would have almost believed you 3-4 years ago but now is a completely different story.

A Tejas flew 6 days ago and as a special gift to piss you off, another Tejas will fly before new year.

Tejas had a dual seat variant long before JFT.

Also Arjuns WERE not operational, NOW THEY ARE & THAT IS FACT.
And that only happened because of lack of spare parts not because Arjuns suddenly broke down.
And that happened because the army wouldn't order more which as we have already seen is keen to make Arjun fail even when Arjuns are better than T90s(AS PROVEN IN TRIALS), and all of this results in DRDO not scaling up production units, and hence we have to import.
However you needn't worry IA is yet to give upon Arjun, IA's EME corp is specifically working with DRDO to reduce weight and the like.
High Nitrogen Steel, aluminium and other alloyed materials, etc are already being employed as we speak to make Arjun better than it already is.
But keep living in denial we will keep bettering ourselves.

LOL come back when you have the Al-Khalid engine.
Al-Khalid is nothing more than an MBT-2000 copy.
We already make our Arjun engines in house.

The effort to indigenisation becomes clear when you look at the future projects initiated by both our countries.
We have offsets with Dassault to complete the final stages of Kaveri engine, we are making the Uttam AESA radars, etc. Same with Arjun; new 1500HP engine for the Arjun Mk2, and other related systems.

Not that you'll accept it in front of Indians but you know deep down that since you have no actual plans to make such systems you are not actually making anything, you are just importing with utter duplicity just calling it "joint-venture".
We on the other hand are attempting and eventually succeeding.

I thought the writer was an Indian. But I was wrong .A Pakistani :D
He has PHD :D What PHD? :sarcastic:

Nothing substantial can be seen in this article.Only some jealous and concerns because of India's growing power.
All you need to count two factors .
Our military spending is just below the 2% of our entire GDP.
10 years ago our poverty share was 50% now 21.60% :D.
Finish .
Rest are the usual cryings of our friends in PDF.India is this ,Modi is that .Oh then Fureher ,Hitler etc etc .

FYI :Tejas and Arjun tank both are inducted .
The author clearly states 124 tanks are inducted...justthey don't work
He also states 40 tejas are forced upon the Indian air force and 8 per year cannot be produced.

We all know why JF-17 backed out of the Bahrain airshow at the last minute when you lot saw that Tejas too was about to perform, so lets not kid ourselves.

We don't claim to invent a square wheel.
You claim tejas is indigenous. Yet your photo above states 61% I digenous and 39% import. That's pretty huge import number. So why call it indeginous.
As for alkhalid engine. Ever heard us say ist totally indigenous. Why you may ask.....because globally nothing in terms of engineering is indigenous. F35 isn't. Eurofighter isn't. Levi wasn't. So stop dancing like a hooker on a street corner

I think you Pakistanis need to concentrate on how your going to feed clothe and equip a massive military of 600 000 men first

Secondly you guys apparently are launching a fifth generation fighter to be ready by 2025 and acquiring block 3 thunders and new submarines and Turkish frigates.

How ever no body talks about the miracle or magic trick you are using to achieve this on a falling rupee shrinking gdp and shrinking export market.

Don't worry too much about Indian budget it's whopping fifty billion dollars you workout how your doing what you say on 9 billion dollars.you certainly may struggle as your national currency keeps falling

as you are so concerned about pakistan social sector here is indias reality

UN says 1 in 3 of the worlds most poorest person is an Indian. The indian government is taking its billion plus population for a ride fighting a non existent war in IOK and spending billions on soldiers who haven't had any war experience in the last 2 decades except blinding innocent kashmiri stone pelters.

below are indian and independent sources like UN and world bank who's reputation even stubborn indians cant question.
