BYD sold 47,732 vehicles in October, up 16 percent from 41,130 in the same period last year, the company's filing on the Hong Kong stock exchange showed today.

BYD sold 23,217 new energy vehicles in October, up about 85 percent from 12,567 in the same period last year.

The company's cumulative car sales for January-October were 316,700 units, down 15.98 percent from a year earlier.

BYD's recently released financial report showed that its revenue for the third quarter was RMB44.52 billion, up 40.7% year-on-year and up 9.1% from the previous quarter.

The company's net profit attributable to the parent company for the third quarter was RMB1.75 billion, up 1,363 percent year-on-year and 13.0 percent from the previous quarter.

China's top investment bank CICC has raised its 2020/2021 net profit forecast on BYD by 11%/3% to RMB 4.5/5.4 billion due to profit boost from higher sales of BYD's premium car model Han.

In a report released on Monday, CICC said BYD will remain one of the most important players in the new energy vehicle sector, with positive long-term logic.

CICC said in a separate report released Wednesday that the valuation of the A-share new energy vehicle sector has hit a new high, with BYD and NIO having become China's first and second largest car companies by market capitalization. Valuations have stretched as the new Chinese car maker has significantly surpassed or approached Tesla's price/sales ratio in 2021.

You won't understand the review, but I will take one comment this guy made. "I have a friend of Piotr from Shenzhen. He is a guy who attaches great importance to details, to the quality of finish and materials, a man who is famous for his criticism of the Chinese automotive industry. Why am I talking about him? Because when he sat down to Han, he drove this car, he took one for himself. The owner of this car, Łukasz, did the same. He did not take the Chinese brand car into account, he watched Audi, Skoda, etc., and for a moment he just stopped by BYD, after which everything was clear."

The next months should be good for Han, BYD is gradually ramping up the production of Han and Blade battery.

Tesla made a grand entry, but let’s see how long their reign at the top of the Chinese market lasts.

The only advantage Tesla 3 has is to introduced the car to market earlier. The quality is very questionable compare to Xpeng P7 and BYD Han. Even Tesla are now using BYD blade battery as more NCM battery start to have the safety fire issue.

Buying a BYD Han is like buying Tesla S car but paying for Tesla 3 only. This is sometime greedy american can never compete with Chinese.

The advent of the BYD Han flagship sedan also served a driving force to the overall NEV sales. According to BYD, the sales of the Han (including BEV and PHEV versions) reached 7,545 units in October, and totaled 18,363 units since it hit the market in July.

Among the vehicles sold last month, 4,896 units were from BYD’s Tang family. Besides, the sales of the Song, the Qin and the Yuan series reached 20,375 units (+13.8% MoM), 6,811 units (+81.1% YoY) and 1,112 units (+4.3% MoM) respectively. The BEV-focused e series had a sale volume of 3,194 units, a month-on-month growth of 25.1%.
