Bus company fined for not switching on AC
LAHORE: A Consumer Court judge has fined a bus company Rs 20,000 for providing poor service to passengers. Muhammad Akram filed the complaint against the bus company alleging that he travelled on a coach of the respondent company, which did not switch on air-conditioning despite his repeated demands and protest. The judge heard arguments by both parties and fined the company. He also ordered the company to refund the passengers fare, Rs 200, as well as pay Rs 10,000 as the cost of the case. In another case, the court fined a biscuit company Rs 20,000 for selling biscuits in packets that weighed less than the printed quantity. staff report
