Meherpur: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) released a member of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) early Friday, hours after his detention.
SI Liton Sarker, a BSF member of Gandhina camp in West Bengal, was held along Kazipur border in Gangni upazila on Thursday night.
Acting on information over BSF's bid to assemble Rohingyas living in India for pushing in Bangladesh, residents of bordering village Kazipur and BGB members have been patrolling the area for last few days.
On Thursday around 10:00pm, they came to know that BSF opened their 110 No. barbed wire gate and assembled some Rohingya people there.
Later, three plainclothes BSF members intruded into Bangladesh through 146/4 sub-pillar area.
Of them, one Liton Sarkar was caught by the BGB and villagers while the rest two managed to flee.
Liton Sarker was handed over to the BSF following a flag meeting held between BGB Kazipur Camp and BSF Gandhina Camp around 3:30am
