BREAKING: UN Security Council to meet on Friday on Iran protests

The U.N. Security Council will hold an emergency meeting about Iran at the request of the U.S. which asked for the session to show support for anti-government protests.

The council has scheduled a Friday afternoon meeting on the Middle East. Alma Konurbayeva, a spokeswoman for council president Kazakhstan, confirms the session will be about Iran.

It's not yet clear how the discussion will take shape. Members are divided in their views of the protests.

U.S. Ambassador Nikki Haley has praised the demonstrators, saying "the U.N. must speak out" to support them.

But Russia has warned against "external interference" in what it sees as an Iran's internal affairs.

At least 21 people have been killed and hundreds arrested in a week of protests and unrest. Pro-government rallies happened Wednesday and Thursday.

Communism means secularism and progressivism, which is the killing formula for the ideological virus Saudi Arabia spreads around the world.

I am with the Iranian people in their call for better, secular and progressive governance, but, this has to be done through constructive activism and without peddling into foreign interests.

Otherwise, even we may assume that a number of protests/protesters are of good intention, they will only see their hard work is eventually stolen.

Most likely.

Iran needs to improve domestic conditions, probably, as per what seems to be the call f the day. This may include a serious upgrade the way they define public life: A transition from god-given and allegedly meta-historical laws to man-made historical laws to better be able to adapt to the developments of the age.

That's a reasonable demand. However, this needs to be done by the Iranian people without foreign meddling. We need to respect the internal dynamics of the country.

Yet, in terms of exporting terrorism in the Middle East, no one can beat the Gulf led by Saudi Arabia. That's a FACT.
