I must admit, if this is the state of readiness of Indian Air Defense & Indian Media that it cannot differentiate its elbow from its @ss, or a USAF Fighter Jet to an AN-124 behemoth transporter, then time to fire the bunch of Indian monkeys sitting and playing with their nuts in some antiquated ATC tower to have caused this mess ! Today this & tomorrow pigeons flying across the border will be labeled as Pakistani MICRO UAV's!

First of all they came from Pakistani airspace so it was the duty of your ATC staff to make it go through the right way. Secondly it is a US aircraft. An-124 is made by Ukraine, and Ukraine has given quite amount of Logistics support to the NATO.

And ya about the pigeons, BSF has already caught many hawks, with sensors attached to their feet on the Rajhasthan border.

Wrong! it is a Russian aircraft with Russian markings. The crew members and pilots speak Russian according to your own local media reports. The aircraft has been shown on TV and Russian markings are clearly visible.

IAF itself has denied that they had scrambled fighter jets.

My take is that its probably taking weapons consignment from the formerly eastern block countries to the ANA with US money. All of that goes through Pakistan. Beyond that I really do not see any thing sinister here.

It is a surprise info. that US is buying Russin wepons for ANA or xyz! and some of confiscated wepons from terrorists operaitng inside Pakistan are using them! who is to be blamed here?
if it was not upto this accident, most of us would not have learned about it?
I'm really upset about the approach of Pakistan govt. on terrorists.
We clearly see what is happening than why are we so hush hish about it !

Russian military plane violates Indian airspace: Rediff.com news

A military cargo aircraft AN-124 of Russian origin carrying ammunitions and five persons on board on Friday night intruded into Indian airspace and landed at the international airport in Mumbai [ Images ].

Indian Air Force spokesperson Wing Commander T K Singha said the plane, which entered the Indian airspace at around 2000 hrs, did not have the permission to fly over the Indian airspace.

The plane was then asked to land at the Mumbai airport which the aircraft did at 2240 hrs, he told CNN-IBN.

Singha described as "untrue" earlier reports that the plane was escorted by Indian Air Force planes up to the airport in Mumbai.

IAF officials and central intelligence sleuths were questioning the people on board the aircraft.

IAF sources said the plane apparently belonging to the United States took off from Diego Garcia island, a military base near Mauritius in the Indian Ocean, and was headed for Kandahar in Afghanistan.

The story makes it even more confusing. Some UK based cargo operators have An 124's. This is the airplane they use to transport the European rocket parts, Airbus engines etc. But no US operators have one of them. The picture showed a Russian tail sign, which would mean a UK based company (they operate along with Russian partners).

But what are they doing taking off from Diego Garcia ? It is possible that US hired one of these planes to transport something really big, but the question is what ? They would have used their regular aircrafts if it was something that would fit in their holds.

And why are they flying near Mumbai to get to Kandahar ? It is pratty much straight North over the ocean from Diego Garcia to Kandahar. Considering the Monsoons, it would have made sense to fly high over the sea rather than follow the coast. Did they fly over Lakshadweep and diverted by IAF ?
