Province name should be Mehran or South Punjab or Indus Province or Bahawalistan.

Seraikistan is good name too but if we want to discourage provinces based on ethnicity thn no to Seraikistan too.

The districts and divisions should become provinces. It is the end of the ethnic issue once and for all. Quiad E Azam warned us about provincialism. Behind that problem is ethnicity.

PPP by the way is just using this as a card. I have been hearing it for the past 2 years. If they wanted new provinces would already have been made.

The districts or the divisions should all become provinces and out problems disappear very quickly.

LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif said Monday that Southern Punjab and Bahawalpur should be two separate provinces.

Speaking to the media alongside Chaudhry Nisar following a PML-N meeting, Shahbaz Sharif was critical of the announcement for the formation of the Bahawalpur South Punjab province, terming it as a ploy to delay the upcoming general elections.

Chaudhry Nisar accused the ANP and MQM of dividing Punjab, adding that the PML-N would introduce a bill seeking the formation of Bahawalpur, Multan and Hazara provinces in the National Assembly.

On January 26, the Parliamentary Committee on new provinces met in Islamabad and recommended ‘Bahawalpur South Punjab’ as the name for a new province in Punjab. According to sources, the commission also finalised recommendations for constitutional amendments for making a new province in South Punjab.

Meanwhile protests have been held in Multan, Sargodha and Mianwail against the name and jurisdiction of the new province.

I think this province is a good idea, but what should come before it is that Balochistan should also be splitted into different provinces

Not sure about the timing, but we do need more provinces. Hopefully this will result in better governance for the affected areas.

So many of those districts speak Punjabi as their majority language & not Sariki !

shame to the proposed name, as punjabi cult must have to prevail Sariki area. I hate word PUNJAB, serious objection. When 6 crore muslims were given Pakistan on the base of religion. Why now around 6 crore Seriki can not have their province. And These punjabi means are deliberately spilled in the sariki areas, when there was not even sariki selected in this majority area. If I were in power I would have nuked all punjabis with their meanes to eat up Sariki belt. Like in china they have spillled many non- muslims to occupy the majority...same is done in Sariki area, where punjabi dogs leader and some fudeal sariki had eaten up rights....I hate word Punjab in the province as this province is for sarikis...as I had debated heatedely on other thread, by all cannons of rules Sariki deserve the province...I am in the favor to make another country, as I have closely experience the attrocities of punjabis on Sarikies....THESE KMEENAY rulers will make another Bangla desh as the dog 'Zia ul haq (MAY ALLAH forgive my words) had put restrictions that majority of punjab assembly has to approve and when majority seat are occupied by the punjabi MNAs...MAY ALLAH give them a serious disater for puting even word punjab in the name....
Even media and other ethnic groupd are supporting and bringing issue of administrative divisions , when first do same critearea for all provinces....who will speak from sarikee ppl when there literacty rate is not near 20% whilst upper punjab 60%...All resources consumed on LAhore to make it paris

I agree on making a southern Punjab province but it should be called Southern Punjab, not BJP.
