Bhoja Air Flight crashes on final approach to Islamabad Airport.

ARY is saying it was a Russian made aircraft.

Islamabad: A passenger plane crashed while trying to land during bad weather near Islamabad on Friday, police said.

It has been reported that 127 people were on board.

The Bhoja airline flight from Karachi came down outside Islamabad airport, police official Fazle Akbar told AFP, adding that emergency teams were on their way to the site.

"It was not immediately clear how many people were on board. We have sent teams to get details," Akbar said.

Plane crashes are relatively rare in Pakistan, where inter-city travel is most efficient by air.

Reports say that we cant blame CAA for this accident as the decision of landing the plane is up to the pilot & air lines policy

As per news the height indicator tool of this plane was not working.....WTF man..................

How can they determine this at such an early stage, in bad weather, the pilot probably mistook Islamabad Highway for the runway.

I heard on Dunya TV CAA official stating that we can't do anything in this regards and many time private airline don't divert to save fuel :hitwall:

.
Very sad. Anyone knows the serial number of aircraft that went down? That way we can see how old it was? These private airlines cut down on maintenance and pilot quality to maximize profits. Just like the other one that went down in Islamabad in 2010 just days before the floods. I hope a thorough investigation is carried out on this one.

In July 2010, an Airbus 321 passenger jet operated by the private airline Airblue crashed into hills overlooking Islamabad while coming in to land after a flight from Karachi, killing 152 people on board.

RIP the dead. Sad to see the country having to go through another tragedy after Siachen.

What ILS category landing system does the Isloo airport have?

.
The ATC cleared the aircraft to land, three minutes later it crashed. All evidence points to low visibility due to bad weather in the area.

Visibility should not be an issue at all. All major airports in Pakistan are equipped with ILS and these aircrafts can land even in zero visibility. This is just another excuse.
