There wasn't any need and there still isn't now. What they needed was a more integrated response system.

Come to think of it a lot of factors lined up for 9/11 to happen, and no, I'm not talking about conspiracy, I'm talking about passive pilots and passengers, a confused response, stuff like that.

For such a building 2-3 floor clear should be enough.

Because the likely hood of a plane flying into a building doesn't really warrant spending money and specialists and security in erecting a SAM system. There are lots of skyscrapers. Also major cities in china are covered by SAM networks. It think its the same for russia. US don't do that because they trust their airforce super (and having the atlantic and pacific in the way).

On the other hand that may be a good idea for the pentagon

10 stories of the WTC is still a lot of volume. Structural distortion applied by the frames wouldn't cause glass to blow out, it would shatter and fall straight down.

How many are you going to installed? In every city? Under whose authority and control? How will you deal with genuine pilot error? Shoot the aircraft down anyway? With just one mistake, how many foreign airlines will continue to do business with your country? Why not just ban domestic air travel and save yourself the hassles?

It can be useful in real war too,when the city is being bombed by enemy bombers.

A jet engine is not a solid object. The core of the engine is actually smaller than you are tall.

I doubt that YOU have the necessary experience to take such notice. Whereas there are aviation maintenance professionals, particularly engine people, who pored over those engine remains, live and via photos, and concluded those engines are from the aircraft.

yes, i am no expert. but i strongly recommend you to take a look at loose change. it has shows many example of how engine would look like after the plane clashed. and there is also a clearly comparison between the hi-presure system wreckage and that of the Rose royce one.

I am pretty sure that the White House is protected by an air defence network of some sort.
