'Beijing-Dhaka ties will be substantially damaged if Bangladesh joins Quad'

With China. No need send PLA. When PLAF can easily carry out bombing and missile attacks attacks on BD infrastructure . This will get millions killed and economy destroyed. Think Yemen Vs Saudi.
What makes you think western power will keep quiet, if china attack bangladesh.

No one will actually directly attack Bangladesh. They will launch anproxy war and can dismantle it.

After our independence, India launched proxy war and we are still bearing the consequences.

. . .
That's why we need china as a stronger ally to counter proxy war with india. Only china can help us ( as helping now) counter the pro India inside Bangladesh.
China can help by getting rid of awami league.

It's time for a new regime to take over.

. .
A national consensus govt will be helpful. With every party shall have there MPs in govt.
I dont like democracy. It does not work in bangladesh.

I really like the chinese-style of public administration , they really take care of their citizens and their interest.

If awami league/bnp really care for the defence of bangladesh, they would have kick india out and start to develop SRBM and drones to hit delhi and yangon.

As for development, well they suck bad. hopefully the chinese will help us to build new cities.

More Chance of India attacking than the Chinese . The Chinese want a govt that is either neutral to both India and China or friendly to china. Either one will do . Easily achievable if Awami league goes. Chinese beef is with Awami league, not BD.

India identifies having a India friendly govt in Dhaka critical to its security and control in the NE. A neutral or enemy govt to India is against Indian interest. As such India will not allow this. Now more than ever India needs a friendly govt in Dhaka as tension escalates between India and China. India will not allow BD to slip away from out of its grips.

Either by proxy or by direct military action. India will secure its interest from BD . First attempt will be by proxies that are loyal to India. If that fails ( which it will), India will directly intervene militarily in the name of bringing democracy to BD.

Well let's *****ng arm our military to the teeth then , we don't have much time on our hands so we have to get our defense to a higher level to go against such proxy warfare.

China will not attack BD directly but can use proxies but idk why they would , India is the main threat here besides Myanmar.

This decade/next decade will decide the faith of Bangladesh , we don't know if that old hag is still going to be the leader but we desperately need someone who isn't a Indian slave for sure. In the end no matter what India tries to do it will fail since our military leaders don't truly like them so India will not have a foothold in Bangladesh for too long and especially with the rise of China.

Again in the end even if India controls the leader of Bangladesh in some way , Bangladesh's military/people will not be controlled by India which means Bangladesh is not in India's true direct control.

China with it's major economy and military will use their power to make sure Bangladesh gets away from India first , and then try to make sure Bangladesh doesn't join QUAD.

China and the West have leverage against Bangladesh not India

West controls our economy
China controls our infrastructure and military
India just has some control over our leader that's all

Now tell me who will win the strategic game aka the long game ?

Exactly not India for sure

I think if Awami league is removed. Indian proxies in BD will get to work. IA will come in to secure its interests pre-emptively and put their proxies in power. Knowing the low popularity that India proxies have now in BD. They cannot achieve power through legal means or with BD military help( coup). So if India wants to USE BD for logistics purpose to secure NE , than the only means is to that end is to put the Indian proxies in power by using the IA ( direct military intervention).

Also this help Modi G, Modi G (BJP) needs a war desperately to shore up his vote banks for 2024. Expect anti Bangladesh rhetoric's from 2022. BD is the perfect target from their point of view.

Lmao I guess , but seriously it's not about be pro China it's about be pro Bangladesh which means to kick out all Indian influence from the nation. Geo politics is a dirty but silent game

We can't also forget the Royhinga Crisis and the CIA or RAW using these guys against us , what's more interesting is that India deep inside doesn't like America which means they don't want Bangladesh under American control either.

I'm not sure about Chinese spies but they also don't want Bangladesh to join QUAD or get forced to join India which will mean China will automatically try to force Bangladesh in various ways to back off from India and the QUAD

Man I would let the Japanese and Koreans make our cities not the Chinese , also yes I agree that Bangladesh isn't ready for democracy yet due to high corruption levels

Long game? :woot:

Firstly : BD and USA(West) enjoy excellent relationship. The history is good and there is absolutely no hatred between USA ( West) and BD. Then India shows up in the picture. It is India that is involving a reluctant USA ( West) in BD - India affairs. West has no reason or interest to consider BD an enemy. USA ( West) are only getting( will get) involved is to satisfy Indian security concern. But If it comes to a choice between BD and India, the USA (WEST) will choose India.

Long term : BD . But in the Short term, India gains victory . Because by if India can get USA involved in BD - India affairs, China wont be able to move freely with regards to BD. Because Chinese wont take on USA alone, unless they get help from Russia. Russia will only back China against India if Russia - West relationship declines further and India officially enters the USA ( western) camp. The Chinese ambassadors statement was directed at India -- but he said QUAD because India is trying to get USA(West) involved in the BD- India relationship to checkmate China out.

Either way, Awami league foreign policy has been a total disaster.
BD had no business getting into this shit show between superpowers. All Awami league had to do was keep their mouth shut and work towards economic development. Instead Awami league developed multiple personality disorder. Now BD has a dark future ahead.

Chinese ambassador meets Bangladesh FS, explains Quad remarks

Chinese ambassador meets Bangladesh FS, explains Quad remarks

Chinese Ambassador Li Jiming explained his recent remarks on Wednesday to Bangladesh Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen when they met at the state guest house Padma after the vaccine handover ceremony.

“He said he did not mean to harm ties between the two countries”, the foreign secretary told The FE after the meeting.

The Chinese ambassador also termed his remarks as ‘out of context’, Mr Masud said.

During the meeting, according to sources, the Chinese envoy came up with the explanation as the foreign secretary wanted to know the reason behind his ‘unexpected remarks’ made on Monday.

The ambassador had said that Bangladesh-China ties would be substantially damaged if Bangladesh join the Quad alliance in any form.

Asked to comment on the ambassador's remarks, Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen had said such remarks from China were unexpected and none from Quad had approached Bangladesh to join it.

Earlier, China’s Ambassador Li handed over 0.5 million vaccines to Bangladesh government as a gift from China.

He said Bangladesh is a time tested friend of China and China would provide all possible support to help Bangladesh fight the Covid pandemic.

The Chinese ambassador to Bangladesh, Li Jiming, has offered apology for his remarks regarding the bilateral relations between Bangladesh and China.

Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen confirmed the matter to The Business Standard on Wednesday.

Li Jiming delivered the comments in the face of abrupt aggressive questions of media, Dr Monem said.

Earlier on Monday, the Chinese Ambassador said Bangladesh's relation with China will "substantially get damaged" if Bangladesh joins "QUAD", a United Nation-led initiative.

The Foreign Minister said Bangladesh don't believe in any special relation with any specific country. "Especially, Bangladesh wants a balanced relationship with India and China." FM added.

The Bangladesh-China relationship is a historical one. During President Xi Jinping's visit to Dhaka, Dhaka-Beijing elevated the bilateral relationship to a "strategic partnership." China is the largest trading partner of Bangladesh that makes this bilateral relationship equally economic and strategic.

On Monday, the Chinese Ambassador also termed "Quad" a military alliance aiming against China's resurgence and its relationship with neighbouring countries.

The Ambassador said Quad was a "narrow-purposed" geopolitical clique, and Bangladesh should not join it as it will not derive any benefit from the initiative.

The US, India, Japan and Australia are part of an informal strategic alliance - the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue, or Quad as it is known.
