Israel Plays WMD Card
Barak: Israel may Invade Syria, Seize Advanced Weapons

By REUTERS

July 21, 2012 "Reuters" -- Israel is preparing for a possible military intervention in Syria in case the Syrian government hands missiles or chemical weapons to Hezbollah in Lebanon, Defense Minister Ehud Barak said on Friday.

"I have instructed the military to increase its intelligence preparations and prepare what is needed so that ... (if necessary) ... we will be able to consider carrying out an operation," Barak said in an interview on Channel 10 television.

We are following ... the possible transfer of advanced munitions systems, mainly anti-aircraft missiles or heavy ground-to-ground missiles, but there could also be a possibility of the transfer of chemical means (weapons) from Syria to Lebanon," he added.

"The moment (Syrian President Bashar al-Assad) starts to fall we will conduct intelligence monitoring and will liaise with other agencies," Barak said.

Hezbollah, which has in the past received military and financial support from Syria and Iran, launched thousands of mainly short-range rockets into Israel during Israel's 2006 offensive in southern Lebanon, but some longer-range rockets reached central Israel.

Their border has largely remained quiet since then.

On Thursday, Barak toured the Golan Heights, a strategic plateau that Israel captured from Syria in the Middle East war in 1967 and from where it can monitor movements inside the territory of its northern foe.

Barak said Israeli troops were preparing to prevent an influx of refugees into territory that Israel controls there.

"They (refugees) have not chosen to come close to us, but in the event of the regime's downfall, which could happen..., (Israeli forces) here are alert and ready, and if we have to stop waves of refugees, we will stop them," Barak said.

Syrian rebels have assassinated four of Assad's closest aides in Damascus and seized three border crossings with Iraq and Turkey this week, putting the Syrian leader under greater pressure than at any time in the 16-month uprising against his rule.

Israel is highly unlikely to carryout such an assault when most of their resources are focused on Iran. If such an adventure happens which is not unexpected considering Israeli "Mad Dog Like" policy , it is highly likely that the conflict will turn into a full blown war and Israel would suffer along with Syria.

.
if they are looking for their own destruction will take such step.

.
I think this comment sums it up nicely;

"Israel's participation would be a heads up to the so-called rebels as to who is really pulling their strings.
Also tangible proof that the ferocious Islamic fighters ARE the Great Satan's foot soldiers which then leads to the question, who exactly IS the US/Saudis/Israel bloc actually fighting?
Legitimate national movements of course...the same thing they fought through the phony Cold War."

There is a good chance that Israel do this and as always, they will be supported by western countries since they are 'defending the Jewish land and preventing another holocaust' and blah blah.
If Israel attacks Syria, all Muslims ME countries should forget their problems with each other, stay united and cut off its arms.

- In the last few years
- Israel threatened of making Jordan an alternative country for Palestine.
- Israel threatened of recapturing Sinai.
- Israel has been threatening of attacking Iran and Lebanon for 6 years and nothing happened.

Both are our enemies and Syrians enemies. And history tells who sold his lands to Israel and faked enmity with her for 40 years without shooting a single bullet on her. And the one who bought arms in AGW1 from Israel to fight Iraq. History tells everything.

Awesome show... best TV ever..... :pop:

We do live in interesting times... One wrong move by any player and we have armageddon at hand :what:

Look who is talking :woot:
I agree ith you,we should look in to history, here it is:

Jordan has the honor to be the only country who is actually in bed in Israel.

Israel was just the middleman in Iran-Contra.Even if Iran bought arms from U.S during the first Persian Gulf war,we did the right thing. Because Saddam was a more dangerous enemy to us back then.We and Israel both had one goal, stopping that nutjob,Saddam, from acquiring ANY WMDs or nukes, because he would certainly use them.
What about after the war?Who was in bed with Israel?Iran,Jordan,Egypt or other countries?

What did you guys do against Israel? We armed Hezbollah, the only Arab militant that could blow Israel's so called mighty army in its face. What did Saudi Arabia,Qatar,UAE,Kuwait and other Arabs do against Israel? Nothing.
I wonder how you can even talk about relations with Israel.Jordan and Egypt are the only 2 countries who recognized Israel.

NATO Carrying out Vast Syria Disinformation Campaign

By Tony Cartalucci

July 21, 2012 "Information Clearing House" -- "The Free Syrian Army ruined our lives," reports BBC in their article, "Syria crisis: Iraqis flee 'sectarian violence' in Damascus." Refugees returning to Iraq from Syria undulated a BBC reporter with accounts of why they've fled, citing sectarian violence perpetrated by the Western backed, armed, and funded so-called "Free Syrian Army" (FSA). Accounts reaffirm that indeed foreign fighters are amongst the FSA's ranks, including Iraqi sectarian extremists serving as commanders.

Reports from Libya earlier this year confirmed that hundreds of Libyan fighters as well as NATO-supplied weapons and cash were pledged to the FSA by Al Qaeda's Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG) commander, Abdul Hakim Belhaj.

Islamic Fighters Flocking to Syria

By PATRICK MARTIN

July 21, 2012 "The Globe and Mail" -- In the 1980s, it was Afghanistan to which international Islamic fighters came, helping the mujahedeen successfully take on the Soviet army and its puppet regime in Kabul. Then came Bosnia in the 1990s and Iraq in the 2000s, in both of which veteran jihadists fought a sectarian war on behalf of outgunned Sunni minorities. In 2012, they’re flocking to Syria.

With funding from private organizations in Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Kuwait, they are making their way across the frontiers from Iraq and Jordan, hooking up with opposition elements in Syria and taking the battle to Damascus and the heart of the regime of President Bashar al-Assad.

it is highly unlikely the syrian government would give hezbollah chemical weapons etc since hezbollah supports the FSA and even is reported to have members fighting in syria too against assad

I hope you don't derail this thread as usual, Israel was defeated in 1968 and 1973 wars. Jordan does have relations with Israel for the sake of Palestaians as they use Jordan as their gate to the whole world and get their imports and aids through Jordan. I don't know which Iranian dictionary you got to call 2006 a victory. Most "Hizbullah" weapons were from Syria not Iran:

Finally, plz, stop adopting others' "achievements" especially by Arabs.
