Bangladesh to observe one-minute blackout on March 25

8 months is too early too conquer any large tract of territory by a guerrilla force.Rebelled army men and EPR hold of many cities and town until May but had to abandoned due to lack of equipment and guerrilla trained man power. Then Mukti Bahini gone under ground for training and acquired arms. From June to September was period when Mukti Bahini organized. Intensity of attack by Mukti Bahini increased by the October. Pak force started to loose it's moral. With mounting guerrilla attacks and deteriorated economy Pakistan couldn't prolong that conflict. So that air strike on western Indian air field to convert it a Indo-Pak war with the aim of finish or be finished. It was gamble. Pak junta hoped for a Chinese and American military intervention on behalf of it and thought that if it can defeat India then insurgency in East pakistan will die out. So you can see Pakistan was desperate to end that quigmire even at the risk of loosing East Pak and surrender. So Mukti Bahini did not get any time to win a big chunk of territory.before that Pakistan surrendered to India and Mukti Bahini achieved it's objective in different way. End result is important, not the method of achieving it. I hope you will realize this simple truth.

Pakistan should thank India as otherwise there would be 90,000 dead Pakistanis at the end of the war.

160 million population with the fastest growing 100 million+ economy.
BD has already surpassed Pakistan in GDP/Capita from only 50% a decade ago.
Watch BD over the next generation.
Pakistan apologies as a state fully or no BD government will establish full relations.
Bangladesh's GDP per Capita was almost double that of Pakistan in 1975.

We've been fighting one of the worst wars of this era and it was to no surprise that Bangladesh may have caught up some sectors.

Pakistan in land, population, resources, location and etc... naturally has the capability to speed far ahead of Bangladesh.

:woot:

Where did you get this pearl from?

Due to massive fiscal transfers from BD to Pakistan during 1947-1971, and the fact that Pakistan did not give BD any reserves after the split, BD left with only 60% the GDP capita of Pakistan in 1971 and struggled badly in the 1970s.

We can all make excuses for our failures but Pakistan chose freely how to play it since 1947 - BD did not get the opportunity as it was a virtual colony till 1971.

I cannot empahsise just how much more dynamic BD economy is over Pakistan - even with CPEC Pakistan is at just over 3% GDP/Capita growth while BD is at 6% a year. True Pakistan may push up to 4-5% a year with all the infrastructure being put in but BD also has a massive infrastructure boom with nuclear, coal and gas GW power plants, massive bridges of road/rail and ports being constructed as we speak. Expect BD GDP capita growth to push up to 7-8% a year in the 2020s.

If Pakistan can match BD GDP capita growth then it will be doing outstandingly well.

No offense, but Bangladesh is quite a backward country when compared to Pakistan.

Pakistan is way ahead of Bangladesh in industry, services, etc.

Don't give me your growth figure which are all garbage. Give me your performance, and you will find that Bangladesh is quite behind Pakistan overall as a country.

I am sorry - but Pakistan needs us more than we need them. Hasina or no Hasina.
No offence but here you sound delusional with this statement... For what do we need Bd? for Rohingya against Myanmar, or against India, against USA, against Israel.....really against what country do we Bd? a country that is under the constant fear of being submerged by rising sea level or becoming a collateral damage in a Sino-India conflict... Please tell me where we need your help, I'm curious...

We just want good relations.. that's it.

Does Bangladesh have a larger economy?

Does Bangladesh has less poverty than Pakistan?

Bring it on, you guys have less population, less resources, less land to compete with Pakistan.

Pakistan should be competing with Germany, France, UK, Mexico, Japan, Thailand, Turkey, Iran, Egypt, Malaysia, Indonesia.

You Bangladesh is nowhere near the countries I have mentioned in economic terms.

Now go cry me a river.

Cheers!! Don't blow up yourself.

Why do you hate Hasina bibi ? Isn't she pro India? Or are you pro Pakistan minded ?

I hate all BD elite + politicians (and by extension lot of the attitude they project among forum members here, not sure which one is chicken and egg tbh).

They are degenerate slime....reveling and grovelling in whatever sycophancy that they inherited/exploited and your country suffers while they put up veil (BBS and whatever other forms of BS prefix and suffix) and have their groupthink lackeys here do the same. I don't think its hard to understand.

Whenever people want to actually discuss the established facts rather than indulge in same ol same ol, it might actually be something of worth. Till then its same deja vu.
