Bangladesh General Election : 2018

Still better than army giving order to the civilian government that they have selected as their puppet. :enjoy:

Do not pretend.

In 2006 army took power and dictated/ousted civilian govt BNP.

Same thing would happen this time, unless awami league did set their own people in army.

It stared with killing 57 officers in 2009.

This the one and only reason, people are helpless today and there is no democracy. Because army has no role.

For Bangladesh, army used to restore democracy when a civilian govt becomes dictator.

Ppl aren't helpless today. Those who stole the money donated for the orphans and as a consequence now facing the possibility of spending next 10 years of their life behind the bars r helpless.

And for the second part yes, even in Bangladesh armay came to power but that does not change the fact that in Bangladesh civilian government holds the power and army just obey the order given to them by the elected government like most of the the other democratic countries throughout the world.

There is no comparison between a military ruled country ( u know the country in reffeeing to) that just selects government as their puppet where the government has to take permission from the army before taking any major decision.

You know what........the election in Pakistan was fair. PPP, PML and PTI workers could run their campaign freely.

Have you heard any violence during their election?

Imran Khan got legal votes from the people, not stolen votes. This is the fact.

Does not matter if Pakistan Army gave any favour to PTI.

Do PPP and PML claim that Pk army engineered to set Imran Khan....?

The main thing is there is a democratic process in Paskistan, but a political party just can not do certain things that are objectionable by Pakistan army.

Pakistan is independent and BD is subservient of India.

Bangladesh is a good case for study on how a country can be totally controlled (by India)
When AL comes to power Bangladesh goes under Indian rule, when BNP come to power Bangladesh goes under Pakistani rule. So actually when we were independent ? It's really a puzzle to me.
Oh ok I forgot Bangladesh was ruled by Bangladesh authority for few years too . When Ershad took power and ruled 9 years.
But but wait, Ershad is now pet of AL, so probably that time Bangladesh was partially under control of India if not fully ( when Ershad will make alliance again with BNP, we will consider that time as semi Pakistan rule!) , so only Military backed Fakhruddin govt time was only authorised Bangladesh rule I am convinced.
Oh my sweet two years of independence!

So if AL win this time, then you will point your finger at army? Doesn't matter, as Ershad once pointed his finger to Allah himself. He said if Allah is true , I will seat on power. Can't remember the year exactly. Maybe it's before 2001 election .

That is a disgusting thing to say.
Nah he didn't mean it actually. He is an old pervert, he doesn't know what he say. He probably wanted to say that if Allah is merciful, if still the justice of Allah exists then I will win . But ended up by saying that if there is Allah then I will win. Lol. Long term imprisonment actually made him like that balanceless person.
I am always in doubt about his mental sanity and no one even his own wife take him seriously ;) now a days.

It is because it started based on the Two Nation Theory back then.

By the way, I think today's Oikko front represents the most independent and unique version Bangladesh. So inclusive (from Liberals to Jamat) and so united.

I hope Oikko front will not mass with India and make check and balance which BNP could not do alone.

I am very hopeful, with Oikkko front, BD will prosper 10x than BAL did in last 10 years.

Well we have no other option but to wait 48 - 72 hours more to know that if Bangladesh is going to prosper 10x more than 10 years AL regime or not .
However do you want khaleda zia as pm or Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir?

lol.... if I want to point at army, the army has to be separate from AL first logically...but army is obedient to AlL now. So it is not a separate entity to be blamed.

Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.

I suggested internal democracy for BNP 6 months ago on PDF. Coincidentally, BNP has made some commendable compromise by creating okkio front.

That is the prove that birds of a feather flock together. @Nilgiri, honestly I salute you now because sometimes you bash Bangladesh.
Yes it's true Bangladesh, you got it correctly. Perhaps more than Bangladeshis. Both AL and BNP supporters are like that, not only blaming one side.

Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir
Finally a very nice point and I agree. I also want that and also want him as prime minister. I am really bored by family rule since 1991.

And listen my man, army is not obedient to AL, but they are obedient to Bangladesh govt and unless national security is under threat, they are not going to take any side . So blaming army, giving them bad name is immature act. Don't be so partisan that you need to point your finger at army.

I will let you onto a little secret:

I been wading through all the different takes, opinions and arguments for BD (as you can imagine) in many subjects (Esp economics and politics)...it is quite a fascinating country for me (even here - in a more extreme "feelings" nationalist defence setting etc).

I don't mind the bruises I get (and those I give back etc)...as long as I learn more in the end ;) and maybe some can learn from me....and I sift the men from the boys from the toddlers etc.

That is really the whole point of me being in this forum and certain subforums. I put in a more contextual way to @Joe Shearer here:

The ppl I respect in the end, I do for various reasons (whether they agree or disagree with me is not important) because they can persevere and both compromise where it makes sense, but have a stiff resolve where that makes sense too. This balance is found in some members, but others not so much....generally it correlates quite well to how much they resort to repeated emotion rather than actual discussion etc...but some exceptions lie even there. A little humour/mocking etc.. is good and all from time to time...but when it turns the same old deep mean-spirited stuff, well it tells more on the person rather than the topic.

Really in the end I wish for BD, the exact same I wish for India, Pakistan and oppressed developing countries in general: to have politicians and leaders that serve their people....rather than other way around like it is mostly today. Really, about 99% of the serious problems faced (and even huge amount of the non-issues that people like to argue/bash with on internet) would evaporate. That to me is where true nationalism, patriotism...whatever you call it always has to start.

Same here, at the end of the day our people in all three countries of the subcontinent are poor, destitute and almost live the lives of animals deviod of any dignity. Uplifting of our people is the priority, I hope we all can find some common grounds to prosper together. The country has been divided into three but hopefully one day we can come up with something like an EU.

Thanks for the nice comment. Yes probably despite having many differences in politics and other ideological stuffs, we all are human being in the end. So good wishes for human being and try to do something good for them is also the best way to serve almighty I believe.
