Bangladesh Airforce inviting tender for 8 MRCA

.
Because this is what india wanted?

Nope this is all that BD can afford right now. Remember BD only spends 1.5-1.6% of GDP on defence.

I think that eventually BD will increase to 24-26 units but that may take another 5 years or so.

so india didn't want you to by Su30s so your primary plane would be dependent on their supply and maintenance

So if my math is at the advanced level I think it is thats 12.
You get a a+ for your second semester

Bullshit. We got mig 29. Still didn't send to them for upgrades or maintenance. We send to ukraine or Russia depending on what's needed.

SU-30 is the best plane at the best price for BD

China has an understanding with Russia that it will not sell the J-11s to any 3rd party country.

This has nothing to do with India at all as BD military controls arms purchases and it sees India as enemy No 1.

. .
Should they buy J7 (Chinese Mig21), or J-10 (Chinese Euro fighter ). Or they buy Battle tested fighters from Credible Sources like Mighoyan and Sughoi Rather than Chengdu.
What about China buying Su 35 is that because of India too?

An
And what's better than that on the market that we can buy? Pls do tell us! F22 raptors?

Any of the chinese planes, hell any plane would be better.

You have two enemies

Burma of which you have a healthy distrust

India which your regime acquiesce to

Ultimately you will be forced to rely on india to supply and maintain your primary fighter putting you on a leash

This decision is either incredibly stupid or worse outright treacherous

This is the reason pak air force is struggling with its own upgradation plans. There isn't anything of that class from competing markets.... for lighter class we're buying from china but for heavy class fighters.... except Europe America and Russia... no one has a suitable aircraft.

And not when you buy from Russia we can't break the contract and put our plane in India even if we wanted. We are buying with everything training, maintenance etc etc

Guys 12 fighters for Venezuela in 2015 cost about 480mil considering inflation got it up to 500mil for us it will cost a billion to get 24... that's 2 sqd of sukhoi 30 which I think is enough? But BD wanted 4 multi role and 6 air superiority sqd yeah?

Our upgrade plans are fine, we have complete control over development of the Jf17 and we are entering finalisation of block 3
We will go onto our 5th gen platform soon enough

This is why the indians gave you that 500mill credit line so they could hook you into this plane

If you are too blind to see the path you are being led on then you have no hope

.
Its an excellent choice, far better than anything else was on offer. But small batch of jet means it'll be costly. But it opens an unique Co-Op opportunity between India and Bangladesh.India is having tons of experience in this jet and we can offer BAF Pilots to train with IAF,like we offered to Vietnam. Now it'll be interesting to see what Myanmar will choose.

First and foremost if-17 is a light fighter that doesn't cover all areas of operation. F-16 doesn't either. If Pakistan gets j31 they'll be operating a twin engined medium class for the first time... still lacking behind... although Pakistani pilots are world class... reports in Pakistan say that Indian pilots have bridged the gap over the years too... so there numerical superiority and equally qualitative workforce will be a tough thing for Pakistan now.

Our first jet prototype is to fly soon at 2021 as told by the govt nearly a decade ago. And we plan to induct tested fifth gen platform too into the future.
We were planning to buy Russian before India ever gave us 500 mil loan. The tender document was designed specifically for sukhoi to win... and India wants us to get some patrol boats with their money... considering we make patrol boats at home... I'm sure all that money will be invested at home and paid back with interest in future. Note this is not a military aid like Pakistan is said to receive from US in the past. It's a loan.

Yes but in detail it means 8 single seater and 4 twin seat or they are buying 8 and e4 are put into option clause...
Sukhoi 30s are all twin seaters.

Bd is opting to train with Russians. Training, maintenance, tools, simulators and all things related are being purchased. Not like how mig 29s were purchased.
