Bangladesh Air Force Thread(2010-2011)

One problem nobdy makes mig-21 flying coffins ! [\Quote]

Not a problem as they could be bought from current operators and upgraded to latest standards by Israel or any other country.

Better yet shouldn't you ask govt that is not defending our citizens in the boarder, what really will they do for defense of Bangladesh sky?

In Bangladesh defense is NOT confine to only military means. Unfortunately, we are put in a situation to defend our economy, livelyhood, culture and reiligion; all of which are under attack.

Nice points. Why we need new arms if we can't protect the border?

As soon as poor-BD is getting literally submissive to Indian hegemony and since BD has came to know that BD has no power against India (against BSF killing and many things) then the poor Bangladeshis are starting to identify Burma as our main enemy with whom we do not have any big problem issue but big opportunity. Like: sok.ter vok.to noro.mer jom / du.dhter shad ghole metano

I mean when BD has nothing to protest against BSF killing, nothing to proud anywhere else but for so-called 71 only then BD wants to get more MIG against Burma to get some placebo proud. If India can call BD’s prime minister and discuss for its benefits like transit issues then why BD is not inviting Burmese Janta to get some benefits. BD needs to take steps to instigate strategic and economical relations with others other than foxy India.

*Poor= those losers who submerged under placebo proud.

heey magg bro are you from bhutan please introduce your self and welcome.

Hey, this is just my opinion!, the thing is your words are meaningless when it comes to reality.

Your opinion are in fantasy land and you term others meaningless? Did you even understand questions that were asked?

Just able to type and summer vacation from school are not reason enough to jump into a subject that you have no clue and the country you virtually know nothing about.

The current fleet of BDAF is sufficient if one looks at the dangers. The worst could be a limited war with Myanmar. But then the US is against the current Myanmar regime and will certainly come to BD's rescue so as to use the opportunity to force a change of regime in Myanmar and make democracy prevail there as also end any hope of Myanmar generals to proliferate nuclear material from N. Korea. Moreover both India and China would not like to lose their heavy strategic investments in BD and will force a ceasefire if not directly come to BD's rescue.

Besides the Mig-29 are sufficient and if additional fighters are needed then Mig-21 bisons could be considered as they are perfect value for money and will aptly take the role of interceptors. The 4 generation fighters will be a lost investment as even their maintenance is quite costly leave aside the cost of procuring them.

No,our current fleet is not sufficient. That's a wrong assesment.

And your assessment of Bangladesh's threat is also flawed. Even if we consider India is not a threat, Myanmar with its additional Mig-29s and a hostile policy regarding territory is a threat to our sovereignty. That is precisely why a forward base at cox bazar is established very recently.

You said US will back Bangladesh,NO.Not until they find something of their profit. Burma has their F-7s upgraded with Israeli avionics and also has TOT for production of Israeli assault rifle. Now do you think US is not aware of these deals?

Now coming to Mig-21 bisons, why should we opt for a plane that's been in service for a long time and has the nickname "flying coffin" ?

We already have enough interceptors in the form of F-7 BG,MB.If we need more interceptors, FC-1 or JF-17 should be the best choice for BAF.
If we can use all other Chinese fighters, then why not this?

For air superiority, I think Migs and Sukhois should be the choice, because going for US stuffs would have lots of strings attached, although US stuffs are better.

i agree that your current fleet is not sufficient, especially in regard to the Burmese threat. And yes, MiG-21 bisons are an old airframe, but they are not flying coffins. Its the older versions of MiG-21 that are falling out of the sky. Still, no point going for MiG-21 bisons, since they have limited life and will be very hard to get support and spares for them, since their production lines were closed decades ago.

But interceptors alone are not enough. BD needs aircraft capable of supporting the army's ground operations by striking at high value enemy targets. The best bet is a multi-role aircraft that can perform both interception and ground attack.

However remember that any conflict between Bangladesh and Myanmar will be quite limited, since its highly likely that a peace deal will be brokered. So there is no need to buy equipment for a sustained war.

So what do you recommend?

iajdani Its not a good idea to go with JF-17 as long as PLAF does not intake it in service extensively. I heard PLAF did not like it much....

If BAF's relations with france is good you could hit a jackpot with french radar and avionics and weapons systems.

British_Bangladeshi...good be realistic, you are not getting anything from euro zone or north america. Round up is China/russia that's official.
FC-1
Migs
SUs

I also agree with you:cheers: BAF can procure FC-1 with western avionics. But during this :hang2:Govt. it is not likely to be happen. We have to wait for the next govt. i think.

MiGs are in our choice cuz we are flying these and some new addition of MiG-29M/M2 is good:partay:
As we are well known to russian avionics, there is a chance to procure Su-xx in near future.

We also not forget J-11

I don't think that BD needs any such 4th generation fighters as being discussed.

No comments....needed...:blah: Still amateur:tdown:

:rofl: We have these grounded junk. You need these:agree: then contact us:lol::rofl:

Oh don't forget to see the F-7BG :azn:
