You lot should focus on the susbtance of what he is trying to say rather than getting fixated on his hyperbole.

I know it is often too much to ask for from emotional South Asians.

Granted that claiming India is "fearful" of a strong BAF is over the top but the irrational insecurities and pettiness of Indian national security community are not unknown.

There is persistent uneasiness of Indian state machinery towards strengthening of its neighbours regardless of whether it harms Indian interests in any way.

Significant hoopla was created by Indian defence analysts when Bangladesh inducted two noisy submarines which pose no military threat to IN whatsoever which susbtantiates the pettiness and unease I have referred to above.

As for Pakistan, envy of many Pakistanis towards any positive development in Bangladesh is very apparent in this forum. One has to simply look around.

This does not help of the ego of certain immature Pakistani posters here but Pakistan's desperation to export JF-17s does not require further explanation. They have been going around and begging almost every country on the planet to buy some.

I don't know about the "50" figure but CATIC has kept FC-1s on offer for BAF for a while now.

It is also true that FC-1 Iis not the right aircraft for BAF given what our potential adversaries operate. Unlike PAF which has a large airspace to defend, BAF needs high performance jets which can quickly intercept and out-maneuver enemy aircraft as every extra minute a hostile aircraft flies in our small airspace would multiply threats to KPIs. JF-17s just don't fit the bill here. However, this does not mean its a bad aircraft.

No contract has yet been signed as BD Navy is looking for a partner to design the class.
Latest information is that sensors will be European and missiles will be Chinese.

Even though BD will not become a hostile country, the IAF will have a real headache as to how to handle PAF, PLAAF and the BAF in a worse case scenario.

Now, tell them something about the purchase proposal of AWACS by the BAF. I read a news about this purchase. What is the status now? India will certainly not like it. They are already displeased with BN purchasing submarines. India will be weeping and @Nilgiri will be hospitalized when the purchase is realized.

With the help of distinctive radar dome the two flying boys will be watching everything on the airport tarmac in India near and far from our border. So, it will cause India to be unable to mobilize its troops without knowing by us.

Now, we know that the cousins living in our west are little short in the brainpower. But, they certainly understand that if AWACS planes, as well as squadrons of training planes, are in the BAF will it be logical for it not to buy 8 or 10 sq. of fighter planes as well?
