The ongoing exercise is the culmination of yearlong training process in light of the directives of Chief of Army Staff Ashfaq Parvez Kayani who had declared 2009-10 as ‘Year of Training’.
To provide the troops the real “ feel of battle ground, the troops have been divided into two groups, namely Blue Land and Fox Land with the former as defendant and the latter as adversary. A Heavy Anti-Tank battalion of Blue Land demonstrated the Dispersal Techniques in Cholistan desert sector and demonstrated the capabilities operating Armored Personnel Carrier (APC).
Other supporting units including Tanks, Infantry, Artillery Guns, Anti-Aircraft, Engineers, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, Signals and others are also actively taking part in the exercises.
The teams, being commanded by a battalion commander, rolled out the camouflaged APC within minutes and moved to the ‘battle field.’
The exercise is a culmination of a long and deliberate process of war games, discussions and logistic evolution of “ Concept of Warfare” that is fully responsive to a wide menu of emerging threats.
This is a concept validation stage of the operational thought to be manifested in the form of tactical, operational and organizational aspects which would be validated and refined through the lessons learnt.
The process commenced with Army War Games named Exercise AZM-E-NAU-2, conducted in February 2010.
PAF’s ongoing exercise namely “High Mark 2010” would be fully integrated with Army Field Exercise.

The country's largest and comprehensive military exercises "Azm-e-Nau-3" is gaining momentum and Pakistan Army on Sunday retaliated the attack of imaginary enemy strongly.
The enemies on Sunday attacked inside Pakistani borders and fierce fighting is underway between Pakistan Army named as Blue Land and Enemy (Fox Land).
The troops by demonstrating `Dispersal Techniques' are advancing towards Army in `battle-like' situation.
Earlier, the planes and ground troops of Enemy Force Fox Land attacked in Pakistani land near Bahawalpur and fighter planes of Pakistan Air Force came into action and gave a befitting response to enemy's planes.
The planes hovered over areas of Multan and Bahawalpur on low level and ground troops of Pakistan Army started its advancement with all its powers.
According to spokesperson of Pakistan Army, these exercises would be continued till May 15 and be participated by the soldiers numbering more than 20,000 belonging to all arms and services.

I have to admit that the montage every channel shows is the same, thus implying that ISPR provided it. That montage is pretty great and looks slick. Nice graphics people they have on their payrolls now.

Later in the evening, Chief of Army Staff visited a communication centre in the exercise area.

On arrival, the COAS was received by Lieutenant General Naeem Khalid Lodhi, Corps Commander Bahawalpur.

BAHAWALPUR, April 11(APP): The Chief of Army Staff, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani visited Bahawalpur Garrison in connection with Exercise Azm-e-Nau -3 today.

COAS was given detailed briefing on the conduct of exercise by Commander Southern Command Lieutenant General Khalid Shamim Wyne in the Control Headquarters.

Later in the evening, Chief of Army Staff visited a communication centre in the exercise area.

On arrival, the COAS was received by Lieutenant General Naeem Khalid Lodhi, Corps Commander Bahawalpur.
 
War Drill ‘Azm-e-Nau III’

EASTERN BORDER, April 10 (APP): In the wake of emerging geo-strategic scenario and rapidly changing things both inside and outside the country, Pakistan as a sovereign and independent country deemed it necessary to reactivate and demonstrate its military might to fortify confidence of the nation in its valiant armed forces.

The largest ever War Games ‘Azm-e-Nau III that have been kicked off by Pakistan Armed Forces in Choalistan sector of Southern Punjab today is a clear message of a proud nation standing side by side with them to the evil forces threatening their country’s ideological and geographical frontiers.

More than twenty thousand troops, officers and jawans, from almost all departments of Pakistan Army are taking part in the exercises. Pakistan Air Force would also join Pakistan Army during the exercises. The aim of the exercises is to practise the preparedness of the forces for any conventional war threat, to work out the contemporary military planning, modern war techniques and the use of latest weapon system.

It is worth mentioning here that Army Chief, General Ashfaq Pervez Kiyani has declared the year 2010 as ‘The Year of Training’.

Today at the initial stage of the exercise, various departments of Pakistan Army like Tanks, Artillery, Anti Aircraft, Engineers, Infantry, Signals and supporting units participated in the manoeuvres.

A heavy Anti Tank Battalion successfully demonstrated the dispersal manoeuvres, in which the Armed Personnel Carriers (APCs) is also taking part. Troops are valiantly exercising their professional skills and techniques.

Azm-e-Nau III is the culmination of typical broad-based and long-term process of War Games and conceptualization of conventional war. The Exercises would continue up till 13th of May, in diverse areas of Sindh and Southern Punjab.

The exercises are the true depiction of excellent professional training system in Armed Forces of Pakistan.

If Mian brothers hair transplant is any example to go by in way of enhancing ones personality, better leave our COAS without hair...:lol:
