"In Yokneam one of the largest defense companies Elbit Systems operates. It is already several years the company is leading major projects associated with Azerbaijan's Defense area" - Interfax-Azerbaijan reported.

The vice-mayor also noted that a large number of Israeli defense companies transfer their development in Azerbaijan. "I can say that there are very interesting projects", - added R.Peres.

"Azeridefence, which" according to the exhibition will be presented in a clear exposition of the new sample.

The new version of the T-72SIM1 modification is characterized by the presence of an active defense system.Laser detector built on the tank with laser-guided anti-tank missiles to detect around 360 degrees. Then, from a distance of 100 meters from the threat of automatic way to work, is the destruction of the ammunition.

Note that muqaviilə signed in 2008 under the "Elbit" Company of the Azerbaijani Army T-72 tanks upgraded to the level of the T-72SIM1 said.

Just because they are the lead contractor for the upgrade doesn't make they make APS themselves.

There will be an APS as part of the package. But that doesn't mean it is produced by Elbit Systems. In fact, the APS may have Elbit components (Elbit is an electronics and radar producer). So, the radar sensors used in e.g. Trophy may be Elbit products even though Trophy is the product of a ten-year collaborative development project between the Rafael Advanced Defense Systems and Israel Aircraft Industries' Elta Group. (NB: The sensors actually used in Trophy are Elta's, it is just for the purpose of example. )

Soft kills are much less effective than hard kill but also much much cheaper.

I don't know much about soft kill but how effective would it be against Soviet ATGMs
