According to one specialist there, this was a bad choice for Azerbaijan. He said, this ship was maid of Aluminum, which after 10 years will require changing parts of it or be dependent on Israel about pars. However, Turkish Onuk offered ship made of composite materials that wouldn't need to be repaired for more than 25 years. However, They couldnt sell it as Onuk use German engine (as Ismail Demir mentioned that those countries make trouble for Turkish army technology to be purchased by Azerbaijan) Turkey should start investing more to speed up the engine production. Actually, i also had many conversation with Israeli army specialists, so if there any question, you might ask.
Also(not the topic, just remembered) Otokar specialist said that Altay will be ready to mass production by end of 2016.

LOL. Virtually all post ww2 ships have superstructures made of aluminum, there are few exceptions like Arleigh Burke which is made of steel. But AB is a heavy destroyer.

So is the specialist correct in his statement, seems like you've skirted around it and gave your own blanket reply. Where is our resident naval expertier @Neptune

The ship's hull is always steel. Superstructures, virtually all post WW2 warships are made of aluminum. There are couple new trends though: Arleigh Burke is made of steel, because aluminum burns easily when it is hit by a rocket, some ships use composite for stealth. Aluminum ships serve fine.

This is Israeli made Saar-4 missile boat, which was built in 1973:

As U can see its fine after more than 40 years and will continue its service for many years more.

As for changing parts that utter nonsense. Its quite the opposite: a crack in metal structure can be fixed by any village welder. On the other hand u cant weld the composite part but have to replace it.

Composites did not show very well thats why newest Zumwalt stealth destroyer has superstructure made of... wood.

@telkon

Retarded morons who probably call themselves "journalist". Another reason for why I hate "haqqin".

Besides, Azerbaijan has had EXTRA for a long time.

EXTRA is indeed an artillery rocket, the difference is that it's guided.
More Extra:

IMI offers now "Predator Hawk" missile with 250 km range (200 kg warhead, 10 m CEP) which can be used from the same Lynx launcher. But probably is overkill for Azerbaijan (even Extra is enough to cover all Armenia).

@500

Why would it be an overkill? More range and stronger warhead would not hurt.

IAI on the other hand was offering the LORA missile at ADEX 2014. I think it would be a good choice for Azerbaijan. Perhaps instead of Predator Hawk, EXTRA can be rather supplemented better by LORA.

Yes bigger range gives more flexibility and they are much harder to intercept because of higher speed.

Tochka-U. 482 kg warhead, 120 km range, 50 m CEP.

in ADEX they said 180km

In video, It says 150km range. Officials in ADEX said 180km range.
A 300mm rocket with a range of 150+km is almost 2x of What Russian Smerch missiles provide...

We don't know whether Kasirga-G is included into the Azerbaijani 300mm rocket project...
