I can't believe Aliyev agreed to ceasefire when the Azerbaijani military was clearly winning. It is unbelievable.

Once again, it's for prisoner exchange and body retrieval. If negotiations come out of this, that is merely a side affect.

Unless the Armenians agree to withdraw, I fully expect the fighting to continue.

That is a little disturbing photo. Aren't S-300s and S-400s meant to eliminate drones which are flying above them - and eliminating Surface to Air Missiles with this ease?

Why are these air-defence system so defenceless.

It didn't join for political reasons. NK residents all have Armenian citizenship. They didn't join because Azerbaijan by itself can't take NK. Now with Erdogan's backing Azerbaijan can take NK so that's why they will join Armenia by referendum and therefore come under Russian protection by CSTO treaty.

Why do you pretend to be some authority on Caucasian and near eastern politics when in reality you're just a Putin fanboy?

How stupid do you think Azerbaijan is? Do you think they will not have considered this possibility? Do you not think that a precondition for ceasefire talks includes the explicit rejection of any such referendum? Aliyev has already proven he is smarter than many had previously given him credit for.

Whatever little influence is only allowed by China and Russia. Over in Central Asia there are many race riots and massive killings like below and more. They hate each other let alone some far away country like turkey which seems like a distant world to them.

For Turkey with no land border to Central Asian to come into China/Russia playground is ridiculous. People in CA write and speak Russian and look Chinese and all seem to hate each other like Uzbek vs Krygz etc. Turkey waltzing in saying they are all brothers is going to cause a chuckle.

Turkish serials can over a period of time change their outlook and instill in them a kind of turkic nationalism.

Why are these air-defence system so defenceless.

Perhaps the Armenian crew didn't know how to operate it, or the Azerbaijani military was deploying other means of jamming the radars of the S-300s before their drones took it out. I aint an expert in this, so I can only speculate. Nevertheless, it clearly demonstrates how the Azerbaijani military have the upper hand.
