i agree , even today if the aussies get their old players back india wouldn't stand a chance of winning, in the previous aus team every single player was a match winner , with players like warne , gilchrist , symonds , lee , hayden , pointing, mcg etc etc india never had a chance untill the first T-20 world cup from where i think there was a decline , they had the habit of fighting till the last ball, the current team is a complete disgrace to the australian legacy..the way gillie and warne lead their teams to victory in IPL is just another example of what these players where capable of and the kind of psychological impact they had in the dressing room.

Entire childhood , I have witnessed the mighty Might of Aussies back then. Their even no. 11 batsman was capable of scoring hundred and they had some great bowlers of those times in their rank.

This team of ours has the same poise, attitude, confidence, and killer instinct.

You do not become a World Champion side without these. And the guys are all around the same age, so they are yet to peak.

And they will grow together as a team.

I agree that 2003 was our World Cup to loose. But that team lacked the poise under pressure this team (and captain) has.

That is the critical difference the change of guard from old to new India has seen.

But no doubt Dada showed us the way with his bare chest.

No team comes close to our batting depth and power.

We don't need world beating bowlers. Just reasonably competent ones.

I am not reckless , without strong pace battery you can only win on tailor made wickets for batsmen but to be a world beaters you need balanced team .

Yes Dada showed us the way, he changed us , it was complete make over.Our current team got it's Attitude and Aggression to stare into opponents eyes from DADA.

You cannot be a Indian cricket supporter ad not wear your heart on your sleeve man. I cannot be measured about my team. I will abuse them. And I will love them. With equal fervor.

The pace battery is only needed for tests. Lets face it - that is 1/3rd of moder cricket, regardless of whether we call it the real cricket or not.

For one days and T20, its all about batters. That is not about to change unless some radical changes happen in the laws - which the BCCI would be mad to allow.

In tests also, we have recently been No.1. After Australia's demise, no one team has dominated Test No. 1. So why the pessimism?

We are one of only 3 teams to be No. 1 since Australia. Surely that says something?
