Others were asking for the right to decide what to wear (or not wear anything at all)... because their bodies, their decision.

I have no problem with highlighting real women problems in Pakistan.. Dressing is the least concern.. why? Because I have seen fully covered women, with hijab, with just a "dopatta", without a dopatta, wearing jeans, wearing 3/4th etc.. In Sindh and Punjab villages, I have hardly seen women covering their faces.. what they wear is their cultural choice.. This is true for men too.. Our villagers want to wear Shalwar Kameez even when they are visiting or working in a foreign country. That's culture..

In cities, you will see all kind of women and men.. so what are they asking for? If they are asking for a right to wear bikinis at a beach in Karachi, then sorry it can't be allowed.. because 99% of the population has some shame left and they might stop visiting beaches with families if we allow people going naked.

Similarly, laws are there against dowry, child marriage, etc.. I also don't see anyone raising finger on any women working in offices, or working in the agri fields.. So what are their demands? If my body my decision means they want to legalize prostitution, or same sex marriage, then sorry it can't be allowed. Most of the marchers want to get the right to decide whether they want to keep the pregnancy or abort it (and we know why they want it).. this also can't be provided (although there are abortions happening in Pakistani clinics but not legally).

They have 9 demands and there is a thread with their list. Not one has anything to do with the slogan 'mera jism mere marzi'
From what you have written I know for a fact upon reading their 9 points you would support all of them. They are very valid.

I would like to congratulate the PTI led Government of Pakistan on hosting their 2nd edition of Aurat March in 2020. Despite global concerns for the COVID19. this event was enthusiastically participated in and showed the resolve of Pakistani women fighting daily for their rights global health pandemic or not.

Having said this, I would like the government to provide certificates that participants of this march in 2020 have not contracted the novel virus COVID19.
