If Erdogan administration had committed to 'regime change' in Syria in full force much sooner back in the (2012 - 2014) period, your country wouldn't have been dealing with the current mess. YOU are now dealing with the consequences of delay and lack of direction vis-a-vis Syria as of late.

Assad regime have brought both Russia and Iran into the equation since 2015, and this camp control over 70% of territory in Syria now. Erdogan administration's flirtations with Russians in this GAME have put it in a predicament as of late - go all-out in Syria and risk a wider conflict with the aforementioned bloc or commit to half-baked measures in Idlib. How is 4 million refugees not a valid excuse? Iranian mullahs were crying fo half a million Afghan refugees and u say turks have no reason. There is a war on ur border with huge humanitarian crisis, what kind of a moron would sit idly and do nothing?
Both countries have invested alot but Turkey doeant want whole of syria, they want a buffer zone in idlib. Turkey didnt interfere when russians n asad killed hindreds of thousands of own citizens in damascus and allepo.

Personally I think IF their is a approval for war. It'll be another Afghanistan but for Turkey. In this particular sense of a 10+ year military effort, to take the rest of Idlib, hold, and secure the area.

Syria will not let it go easy so we could expect a quick conflict for a few months, followed by years of low level conflict in Idlib just like Afghanistan. This prospect would for sure kill anyone's political career in a flash.

We can't know that for sure but what we know for sure is, a war with Syria would be costly for Turkey.
Our economy is already going down from the drain and struggling with other problems in Turkey (Inflation, No-Jobs, Currency problems, Education Problems, Refugees). Erdogan making Turkey enter a war in ME would be end of his career.
