Yeah,right....................thanx for that article.Lets wait some more moths to see what really happens to our Arjun MkII.Currently there is too many contradictory claims and infos(read speculation) regarding Arjun MkII.

If it is really 55 ton then its worth 8 million USD a piece. if it is 55 ton then IA must order it in 1000s rather than in 100s.

no one in the world can provide genuine information on weapons, be it from anywhere. so think twice before saying if some system is ready or not.

would have been better to go with the leopard 2 A6 at only 5.7 mill a copy. India would have saved a ton of time and money.

They want to be self-sufficient by making their very own...tank.

I know this is a little late but I only just realised this (duh!) that by the time the Mk.2 enters service in 2015 the Indian defence budget (if it remains at 2.0% of GDP, kt could be much higher if GoI raise it to 3.0%) will be almost $50 BILLION ($47.5 Billion) so the IA will be able to purchase as many Arjun Mk.2 as they like regardless of the price.

+ maybe this is IA's plan- there's no point tying a significant proportion of your budget down so early befor the machine even enters service, place initial orders to show interest and then when ot enters service and proves itself go fro much larger orders.
