Arabs slam Pak stand on Yemen and Call on Pakistani Parliament to Fall in Line

Numbers are not complicated.

Socotra (The Galapagos islands of the East) is bigger than Qeshm island. The Arabian Peninsula is the biggest peninsula in the world btw.

Qeshm - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Area 1,491 km2 (576 sq mi)

Socotra - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Area 3,796 km2 (1,466 sq mi)

So you were incorrect once again.

I solely debate based on facts and like to be precise.

Oh my god, I don't want us to compare Islands now!

But just for your information, weren't we talking about Iran & GCC? Socotra is a Yemeni Island! (actually ISLANDS, apparently Socotra is four Islands, but Qeshm is one Island).

Like I said. One post its KSA vs Iran, or GCC vs Iran or all Arab countries vs Iran.

Anyway, like I said, KSA is awesome. It has more Islands than Iran, so that makes KSA much cooler than Iran, and because Yemen has a bigger Island that Iran, that makes Saudi Arabia EVEN cooler. Because really, it's all about how many Islands a country has.

.
The fact is that UAE alone has an bigger GDP (nominal) than Iran.

List of countries by GDP (nominal) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It's also a fact that the GCC has an 2 trillion US dollar GDP (nominal) economy. 5 times as big as 80 million big Iran. It's also a fact that GCC is basically one country (all part of the Arabian Peninsula) and that the GCC is richer in terms of resources combined than Iran let alone the entire Arab world.

It also a fact that the average Iranian is poorer in terms of nominal GDP per capita than the average Jamaican and 10 times poorer than the average GCC national.

I think that you should play "Mullah superpower" among your Tajik and Afghan Hazara brothers. Compared to them you are indeed another GCC.
I,m really sorry... I really underestimated you as an Arab... you must be right... all modern economists that compare countries by purchasing power are just dumb non-Arabs...
If you say so...then it is so...
btw, did I call you Arab? I,m sorry for giving you names...

The Arab world is its own worst enemy
By Jake Wallis Simons World Last updated: October 12th, 2012

Abdulateef al-Mulhim said that Israel should be at the bottom of the Arab world's enemy list

If I were to argue that the real enemy of the Arab world is not Israel, but the Arab world itself, what would people say? If I suggested it is the Arab states’ own endemic corruption, poor healthcare, inadequate education system, lack of respect for human rights, and disregard for human life and freedom of speech that is the real problem? If I said that many Arab states actually cause their own people far greater suffering than Israel does? That in attacking Israel in 1948 and 1967, and intermittently thereafter, the Arab world only harmed itself? That Israel offers a far better standard of living to Palestinians than many Arab states offer their citizens? If I argued all of this, wouldn’t the response be a tsunami of animosity?

I think so. For that reason, I won’t. I’ll leave it to Abdulateef al-Mulhim, the former commodore of the Saudi Navy.

In an article that first appeared in the Arab News and has been widely cited since, al-Mulhim made all these points. The Times printed a lengthy extract in their Opinion pages. Here are some choice quotations.

On the real Arab enemy (themselves): “The Arab world … has many enemies, and Israel should have been at the bottom of the list. The real enemies of the Arab world are corruption, lack of good education, lack of good healthcare, lack of freedom, lack of respect for human lives and, finally, the many dictators who used the Arab-Israeli conflict to suppress their own people. These dictators’ atrocities against their own citizens are far worse than all the full-scale Arab-Israeli wars … Syrians are leaving their own country not because of Israeli planes dropping bombs on them but the Syrian Air Force doing so.”

On the comparison of many Arab states and Israel: “If many of the Arab states are in such disarray, we should contrast them with Israel. It now has the most advanced research facilities, top universities and infrastructure. Many Arabs don’t know that the life expectancy of Palestinians living in Israel is far greater than in many Arab states and they enjoy far greater political and social freedom than many of their Arab brothers. Even the Palestinians living under Israeli occupation in the West Bank and Gaza Strip [sic] enjoy more political and social rights than in some parts of the Arab world.”

On the lessons from the Arab Spring: “The Arab Spring showed the world that the Palestinians are happier and living better than their Arab brothers who fought to liberate them from the Israelis. It is time to stop the hatred and wars and create better living conditions for future Arab generations."

The motivations of the author are open to speculation. And, let's face it, much of this is a bit rich coming from a former member of the Saudi establishment, which does not have the best of track records when it comes to human rights. But on the face of it, this is a brave piece to write. The Saudis may not have very much love for many of the Arab countries of which he speaks, but they are traditionally not particularly keen on Israel, either. For that matter, it is unusual for anybody outside of America to argue that for far too long, far too much attention has been focussed on Israel and its supposed evils, and far too little attention has been paid to the nature of the aggression it faces.

I’m not suggesting that Israel is spotless. Personally, I found the excesses of the 2006 Lebanon campaign hard to stomach, the alleged use of white phosphorus during Operation Cast Lead inexcusable, the seeming indulgence of the West Bank “price taggers” unacceptable, and so on. And I'd be keen to see a State of Palestine properly recognised and represented at the UN.

But no country is perfect, especially one that is just 64 years old, and has existed in a perpetual, de facto state of war. Notwithstanding all its faults, for too long we have allowed Israel – an essentially liberal democracy under immense strain – to be demonised in the eyes of the world while holding it to standards we never apply to its neighbours. The UN has passed far more resolutions against the Jewish state than any other country in the world, including Iran, Zimbabwe, China, Russia and North Korea. According to some estimates, a third of all UN resolutions are passed against Israel. Why these double standards? Is it not condescending to ignore the fundamental abuses of humanity and dignity that we see in other states, as if they can’t be expected to know any better? Is it not hypocritical to expend far more energy correcting Israel’s relatively minor misdemeanours while turning a blind eye to the horrendous actions of the dictatorships that surround it?

For the Arab world, hatred of Israel is a distraction. They would be wise to refocus their attentions on putting their own house in order. This is is al-Mulhim's conclusion, not mine. Many people, of course, may disagree, and they are entitled to do so. But what I want to know is, why is his very sound and reasonable argument made so rarely in the British media? And why will it inevitably be met with such venom?

You started the discussion with me. I solely replied to 1 post by your compatriot who mentioned those 3 islands.

You said that Qeshm island was the biggest island "in the region". Last time I checked Yemen is part of this region (ME, MENA region).

Socotra island is indeed an archipelago but the main island is called Socotra and that's what I linked to. It clearly shows that Socotra island is twice as big.

The rest of your post is trolling.

Lastly how difficult can it be to measure a country's GDP (nominal) per capita? Do you dispute what everyone knows about and what I have written namely that the GCC has a 5 times bigger economy than Iran and that it's people (on average) are several times richer?

You need to take your medicine or quit your heroin addiction which millions of Iranians suffer from as quick as possible. It clearly messes your mind up.
ok, after I finished my current invention (actually 13th invention) I will think about quitting heroin...

Exactly... You,re very honest... This is exactly why you become suicide bombers killing innocent people like you,re going to picnic!! Exactly... I never understand how some people like Saudis are so naive and easy - to - decept to buy words of a Terrorist liver eater group like DAESH or Al Nosrah and with pleasure go and blow themselves up for some version of so called Islam that all Muslims are rejecting to be even ISLAM!!!
The blindness combined with Sahara Arab mind set and logic produces millions of suicide bombers to kill other Muslims in other Muslim countries... and they think they will go to Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) right away...

Although killing innocent people hurts when a suicide bomber kills them but let's see at the bright side... one suicide bomber is gone too!!
I think we should keep these kinds of posts out. Thanks. They always start a sectarian war. I am personally not positively disposed to wahabbism which I believe has caused thousands of deaths but calling all Saudis terrorist is going to start a useless flame war.

This is an article about Saudi funding to the Lashkar E Jhangvi a known militant group in Pakistan. We should take this up with the Saudis.

In the Punjab town of Jhang, LeJ’s birthplace, SSP leader Maulana Mohammad Ahmed Ludhianvi describes what he says are Tehran’s grand designs. Iranian consular offices and cultural centers, he alleges, are actually a front for its intelligence agencies.

“If Iranian interference continues it will destroy this country,” said Ludhianvi in an interview in his home. The state provides him with armed guards, fearful any harm done to him could trigger sectarian bloodletting.

The Iranian embassy in Islamabad, asked for a response to that allegation, issued a statement denouncing sectarian violence.

“What is happening today in the name of sectarianism has nothing to do with Muslims and their ideologies,” it said.

Ludhianvi insisted he was just a politician. “I would like to tell you that I am not a murderer, I am not a killer, I am not a terrorist. We are a political party.”

After a meal of chicken, curry and spinach, Ludhianvi and his aides stood up to warmly welcome a visitor: Saudi Arabia-based cleric Malik Abdul Haq al-Meqqi.

A Pakistani cleric knowledgeable about Sunni groups described Meqqi as a middleman between Saudi donors and intelligence agencies and the LeJ, the SSP and other groups.

“Of course, Saudi Arabia supports these groups. They want to keep Iranian influence in check in Pakistan, so they pay,” the Pakistani cleric said. His account squared with that of a Pakistani intelligence agent, who said jailed militants had confessed that LeJ received Saudi funding…

That's what Pakistan has come down to now? REALLY?!
First Karzai and now F'in UAE! What's next, The Houthis?
Pakistan's ought to minimize it's reliance on GCC. Should further strengthen it's ties with the likes of Turkey and China.
As for these 'warnings', personally I don't take them seriously especially when they're coming from the Arabs.

Purely pressure tactics, Pakistan has its own mind and destiny, we need to believe in our selves, the only thing our leadership lacks is the belief in itself and the nation.

im saudi why apologies ?! all im saying if we have one thing to be proud of its islam and the prophet peace be upon him. anything else dosnt matter. yes history is nice and all. but nothing can be compared to islam and the prophet peace be upon him.
and regarding al-arabiya majority of saudis hate it. the owner is a saudi who we all disrespect. we always attack the channel publicly. and we saudis believe its a channel against islam. and its being used by other ppl who have their own dirty agenda. thats what the majority of saudi arabia think of that dirty channel. but in the arab world they have a lot of audience unfortunately
and its based in dubai and registered in london. so its not in saudi.
i sometimes post a link from it if there is an english translation to an arabic news or report. just when needed.
really? then why it acts like it is the official TV channel of KSA kingdom? The ministers and royal princes are always referring to Al Arabiya as this and that and as broadcasted on Al arabiyah?
If the majority of Saudis are getting the Anti-Islam intentions of Al- Ebriyeh then I must respect them from now on

I mentioned islands because your fellow compatriot started braking about some 3 tiny islands while KSA alone has 3000 islands and the Arab world around 40.000 if not more. Iran has less islands than KSA alone.

The Arabian Peninsula is one region. Modern-day borders matters little. It's all Arabia.

Since when has the BCC become a "holy cow" incapable of reporting false news? According to the same BCC Pakistan has stored atomic weapons for KSA in the event of KSA asking for them.

Saudi nuclear weapons 'on order' from Pakistan - BBC News

Why don't you take a look at the official sources that I have posted from the Saudi Arabian authorities that deal with OFFICIAL marriage laws in KSA? Why don't you take a look at the dozens of links that I posted that clearly show that 13.000 Saudi Arabian women married foreigners alone last year including several marriages with Pakistani men?

ok, Mr. Link... he said... you have more Islands...more oil... more land... can you tell me what was his point when he said all this and then you tried to dispute his words!!!?
He said A and you replied Y!

you said it "it acts like"... and it has accesses like many other channels that dosnt mean its the official state channel.
just look at the amount of attack at AL-ARABIYA by saudis on twitter and by public figures and other saudi channels
again we can only say our opinion about it but its not saudi based or registered.

may I ask why you negative rated my post? He said he is ready to give its life to Islam and that I don,t understand that feeling and I explained this is exactly the reason why there are millions of suicide bombers among them... really? Although it is not that important to have + or - but I don't understand why... sectarian? This post was one non sectarian and logical explanation among all sectarian posts and you chose me?? Although, it is ok... one Red negative sign is good for balance as I already have one positive!!

what is the official TV of KSA in international market? Al arabiyah is not even professional and smart when they try to make things on their favor.. their Technics are not pre-studied well and this is why most of times that make Gaffs///

So would I brother. So would I! :D

Maraa I've always been curious to see how that will look like. I'm no pyromaniac but the idea of a Mullah's beard being burnt via kerosene or other inflammatory product is unusually appealing to me. I just really want to see what it would look like.

They call us misqeen, well what do they expect us misqeen to do?.

They bought these flash modern weapons everything top notch now all gcc needs to do is grow balls and go in to action and use them.

Unfortunately oil cant buy balls.

We don't want our boys getting killed in some foreign land we got too many snakes at home to deal with.

I also got a negative comment for a post that had no racist words, no anti-Arab comments, no sectarian comments, nothing. This is what I said in a reply to a Saudi poster implying that he wanted to push his dick in an Iranian's mouth (""let one iranian bullet come to yemen and il personally shove my big fat willing up your throat"") and I replied with, "I didn't know this site was also a homosexual fantasy board. Personally, I wish you the best of luck in reaching your desire of being fellated by a man, but wouldn't geopolitical discussions be more interesting to others here?"

After posters keep insulting Iran and "farsis" and clapping and laughing at death of Iranians and talking positively about suicide bombers, I get a negative rating for saying the above.

And then a poster says that they think this board is pro-Iranian...!

But I guess that's like in real life. Any country can protest, and it doesn't make any big news, but if in Iran there is a protest, then it becomes a huge deal everywhere. If in Iran, one political prison is arrested, then its on the media all over the world, as if no country ever has any arrests. No country in the NPT has as much troubles with its enrichment program than Iran. No country in the world has received as much sanctions as Iran, none of the massive dictatorship countries. When Saddam used chemical weapons on Iranians, the UN did not give a shit. When an Iranian passenger plane was shot down, there was no candle vigils for us.

But that's the price you get for trying to stand on your own feet as a non-western country in the 21st century and that's why we always have to try hundred times harder.

Well, i think its wrong for you to equate someone who's willing to give up his wealth and fancy lifestyle for Islam to suicide bombers.

Prominent Sufis and righteous people also abandoned worldly things for their strong religious beliefs and commitment to Islam and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

You can also find similar personalities in other faiths like Buddhism, etc..

However, religious extremism is dangerous, but that's an entirely different thing.
