Arabs slam Pak stand on Yemen and Call on Pakistani Parliament to Fall in Line

Remittances:

Arab countries to Pakistan - $8.5 billion

Arab Countries to India - $30 billion

UAE alone was source of $15 billion to India.

_______________________________________________________________________________________________

So let me get this right. The Arabs provide millions of jobs to Indian's so they can earn money and send back to India which helps to strengthen India. Whilst so many of my poor brothers in Pakistan are unemployed and desperate for jobs. If they got job in UAE it would mean so much to their children, their parents but instead UAE gives them to Indian's.

$30 billion to India and $8 billion to Pakistan. That's nearly four times more.

India's Stakes In The Middle East - Forbes

Please provide sources for those claims/numbers as of 2015.

The biggest Pakistani diaspora in the world is located in the Arab world, more precisely the GCC. Not sure what you want more than that? GCC states are capitalist countries where demand, abilities etc. rule. No planned economies like in the old Soviet Union and other communist states.

Did you forget in your equation that India has 1.2 billion people and Pakistan 190-200 million? That's at least a 6 times bigger population. Did you forget that many of the Indians in the UAE are highly skilled and that more Indian billionaires live in the GCC than elsewhere outside of India? Millions of Indians live in the Arab world too.

Are "we" supposed not to pay Indians or others for their work?:o:o_O The GCC does not ban anyone from working in the GCC. You have 500.000 if not 1 million Westerners as of 2015 as well.

Erdogan just called Nawaz Sharif, agreed to continue engaging Iran for a diplomatic solution in Yemen

You are giving Iran too much weight don't you think? and what made you so sure that Saudi Arabia is going to response to Pakistan, Iran or Turkey? It has been two weeks since the airstrikes started and soon we might see troops on the ground while Iran is only shouting like a little kid. Do you think Saudi Arabia will listen to every Tom, Dick and Harry when it comes to its national security? Saudi Arabia will basically give the middle finger to anyone that think a room is there for negotiation/peace talks whatever you wanna call it. Neither Iran, nor Pakistan or Turkey can play the nice guy so please tell Mr Nawaz Sharif to save his energy. The Houthi has no future in Yemen neither the ex president Saleh a goal Saudi Arabia has put and soon will accomplish.

. .
yes ofcourse 14 iranian planes in the last 2 weeks before the war was sending flower and nutella jars.
saudi intelligence got the iranian missiles serial number so please cut the crap. if you dont know its ok you dont have to comment.
iran and hezb-alshaytan are in yemen 2 iranian officer were captured.
180 tons of weapons were shipped to the houthi from iran
then ali saleh gives them control of missiles. and send it to saudi border.
i can keep going on. anyway gtg
Calm down habibi.
I cannot say all you are saying is 100% truth. But still what are you saying is all small arms. Ok fine they sent 14 planes you should send 100 planes to your YEMENI supporters. They send 180tons you send 200 tons. Counter them with Counter intelligence. Send your military advisors to help Yemeni forces. That is normal.
But if your supporters are totally devastated even after your aid than it is time to take a step back and rethink your strategy instead of deatroying infrastructure of that country.
Iran have NO soldiers on Yemen. Iran have no regular army or heavy arms in yemen like Battle tanks MBRLs, Arrillery SAMs etc.
All excuse Saudi forces have to bomb the hell out of Yemeni cities are some dumb conspiracy theories. and at the end Saudis will be responsible for distruction of Yemen not iran. Sigghhh

You dont see the point man. I am not saying we are supporting Iran against saudia. But your forces are sending yemen furthur into chaos and civil war and we know how is it like to have a backyard like that. You will see very soon.
And the most important point is
And after you commit utter stupid moves WITHOUT considering to consult your long standing time tested allies like turkey and Pakistan(Altough We have been bacstabbed continiously by terrorists funding from GCC countries)
Now when we are trying to resolve this issue by becoming a conciliator between Iran and Saudia. We are getting bullied like that?
I mean Turkey and Pakistan are The most powerfull Muslim countries militarily and both are good allies and friends. now you guys are bullying us?
Fine then as you wish. Go fight and clear this mess and best of luck for never ending war against terror after you destroy yemen

I am disgusted at the reasoning skills of some of my fellow Pakistanis.

Threat from UAE is not implied to be militaristic but rather diplomatic & financial. Most of Pakistan's incoming remittance is from the Arab Countries (Saudi Arabia and UAE basically) and a ban on Pakistani workforce in either of these countries would not only put immense pressure on an already crumbled economy but also impose extreme misery on many Pakistanis that would be effected directly form that ban! The repercussions are unimaginable.

Withdrawal of financial support from Saudi Arabia and UAE is something that the parliament has not considered. And with 2/3rd majority, the Government should have imposed its rightful decision to respond to Saudi request for assistance.

I would personally go as far as recruiting a half a million strong force, as per our military induction standard, train and equip them and permanently place them in Saudi Arabia under Pakistani military command for protection of Saudi interests. And Saudi Arabia bears all the expenditure of that force along with procurement & investment in production, R&D and development of Chinese based Pakistani assets such as JF-17, Al-Khalid, Baktar-Shikan, Anzaa etc. This 2 way bond would not only strengthen with the passage of time but would also be extremely beneficial to both countries, Pakistan with financial assistance and Saudi Arabia with man power that is not only dedicated to the holy land but also extremely professional and committed to the cause.

Great!!! But soldiers who join Pak Army with passion don't join to spill their blood for blood. When even random member of country is ready to sacrifice son of soil for money than it surely deserves leaders like Nawaz and Zardari.

Indians working in the Gulf states outnumber Pakistani workers. simple math. UAE does't go and pick. You look for job you find it but you stay home and think UAE is coming to you not going to happen. How much of economic aid UAE and Saudi Arabia give to Pakistan and most of it turn into grants.

.
I may have wrong sources, but do check other Pakistani replies echoing my thoughts.

None of them says that they finance our bread and butter :) unless you mean the "tea" that we drink in evening :).

They provide us some aid but we are not dependent on them :)

That's just a short term benefit. We need to reverse the sectarianism that has taken root in our country and any
Pakistani support for Saudia would make the Shias feel marginalized. Even if the actual conflict is not sectarian in nature, a sectarian color can easily be given back at home. On the other hand, once sanctions are lifted, good relations with Iran will potentially be highly beneficial economically.

Thirdly, we must consider the consequences of a Saudi defeat which in my opinion is highly likely especially without Pakistani or Turkish support. It will significantly weaken the Saudi clout in the region. If war crime charges are pressed against the Saudi leadership it will game over for the kingdom. Democracy in the Arab world will be good for the whole world including the few million Pakistanis living there.

You consider it sacrificing son of soil for money but a single call to arms for the cause of Saudi Arabia would attract millions of ordinary Pakistanis, that's just the religion bit in them that makes them answer that call. Making that official and actually training and equipping them would not only give them a real chance of victory but also fulfil the dreams of all those who aspire to serve the holy land.

Pakistan has the right and choice of joining in the coalition or not . It has demonstrated that it will get involved diplomatically.
I do not think that the UAE has "warned" Pakistan. But most probably talked about the lost large benefits of joining. But that again depends on outweighing these benefits with the consequences, and Pakistan must have not found it very advantageous to its policies.

Seems Pakista made a wise decision for once in its life. Im impressed.:enjoy:

Well hope you won't get more wahabists/suicide bombings as a revenge for your 'treacherous' decision though.lool:lol:

Pakistan still has a triumph card. China beside her is all enough. The world largest second economy with 4 trillion forex reserve easily support any financial crisis and assist in building of infrastructure. A country with technology advances and manufacturing prowess to assist any advances of countries in military and technology.

Arabs is nothing.

China-Pakistan-Iran relations are an essential part of China's Silk Road and other strategies in Eurasia. I hope Pakistan will eventually be able to "divorce" from those selfish, warmongering and backward Gulf Arabs. Pakistan deserves better, in the long term Pakistan has nothing substantial to gain from those amoral and primitive bastards.

I think the problem here is two fold:
1-GCC have all the firepower in the world, but they realize that F-15s, Tornados, F-16s can only do so much. Just like USA learnt in the Iraq/Afghan wars, you can bomb big stuff easily. But then comes the time to put boots on the ground to hunt those rebels hiding among the civilians. And that is long and arduous task. USA failed miserably, and that is what the GCCs are afraid of. In their immediate neighborhood, only Egypt, Turkey and Pakistan have COIN experience, Pakistan having the most of it. So While they were expecting Pakistan to jump in, they are left in doldrums since both Pakistan and Turkey have refused. Ground war in Yemen is going to take a seriously long time and GCCs are woefully ill-experienced in that regard.

2-GCC is now assuming that Pakistan is pro-Iran, and in the immediate aftermath of the Iran-G5 nuclear talks, they are even more scared that how would an Iran without sanctions be like. Yemen has had a bit of internal problems for a while, is it a coincidence that GCC coalition comes in right when Iran is expected to reach a landmark deal with the western powers? USA seems to have forgotten the GCC reservations on that regard. Meanwhile, the Israeli-Arab-Palestinian conflict still rages on, and with another front open, there is no end to fighting in the middle-east. Not good.
Sir sorry to say but did our good old Allies in Arabian Peninsula consulted us before starting an all out war in there backyard?
We are what? Allies or slaves?
They should have known that this is not a one man dealing anymore in Pakistan. They have to deal with the whole parliment that ranges from Mullahs of Sufi Salfi and Shia sects to Moderates like Nleage and PTI and upto Left winged Urdu speaking MQM ANP Pashtuuns and semi socialist PPP . Its a damn democracy how can they simply expect to do such a stupid thing and then expect us to follow them like sheep?

That is not funny at all my friend, we should not be laughing at the deaths of others.

Pakistanis also feel sad for the terrorists that blow themselves up thinking that they are going to heaven for this.
