There are a number of modifications that simple things like so called" Bulbs" have different from civillian use when used in millitary applications. Like; explosion proofing, fire retardant housing, Shatter proof glass, and corrosion proof connectors etc.

This all adds to the cost. However, after having said that, the $300 toilet seat is the other extreme.

thats what i say this ship yard is here since 50s and do nothing but waste corrupt and loot . if it was in any eastern western country in 60 years it was capable to build even AC and large ships

I once wrote a post saying that the two important industrial cities of japan were dstroyed completely in WW2 and Paksitan came got independence in 1947. Both countries started from scratch. The population difference at present is only some couple of millions and their size is less than 50% the size of Pakistan nad their resources are far less than the resources of Pakistan, and they have more natural clamities every year than pakistan. And despite all this, after 60+ years see where they are and where we are.

I got a reply to my post that we cannot compare ourselves with them!.

Why? Are they chosen people of God that we cannot compete them and make Pakistan good if not better or advanced like Japan.

one of my relatives work there in accounts and as per he KARACHI SHIP YARD is worse in corruption every serviceman and engineer or worker looking for earn money there even change of light cost 600 rupees there


so what we expect they will build AC for us ?

Oh i jump in to the thread thinking you are building another F-22 frigate of some thing like that

So you think building frigate is n easy task, as if you decide and second day you start the work...
Man it costs around 500+ million $ to have one indigeniously built frigate..

Clapping is done by two hands and not one.

What japanese do is a team work, the government+politicians+rich citizens+middle class citizens+VIP citizens+normal citizens, all work together for the better of the country.

But in South Asia the first two (government+politicians) work for themselves and they are given the authority by the remaining four (rich citizens+middle class citizens+VIP citizens+normal citizens).

Unless all the 6 work together for the common goal of a better nation nothing can change.

well a national base operated company wouldnot have flourished even in western country..only a limited or a private company can grow.
secondly fiancing is an issue..our navy hasnt had a good demand to run a shipyard on continuing base

lastly had we not suffered BHUTTO nationalization in 70s, today we would had a different economy(no offense for Bhutto lovers, even he himself later admitted that it was a very big mistake)

Why not they continued the production of FACs make them to a total of 11, 1 from China and 10 locally. I am sure that PN is interested in 7 Type-54Bs also and 7 Qing Class Subs. So there are lot of this that should be remembered.

Hello, I just wonder what is going on with ship lift and transfer system bid. Some officials released that the contract has been awarded to some korean company but I never heard the exact news and scale at all in here Korea.
Is there anybody who can explain this?
