Ankara’s move to Chinese air systems appals NATO allies

Why is Turkey considering a Chinese system? Is it some sort of a strategic shift or is it just simply the price?

We were talking about US airbases(not NATO),Incirlik and Izmir Airstation are the only ones.
Izmir Airstation doesnt need to be protected by those Patriots(nothing coming from the west) so according to Madmusti the Patriots are only protecting Incirlik.
The point was for what reason the Patriots are in Turkey,in my vieuw they are there to protect Turkey from incoming and not only Incirlik.
Btw,if there are more bases we dont know of,you could name them so we know.

I see. Izmir AFB is not a US base. It's the NATO Land Forces HQ (LANDCOM). Which is also the place where OEF-Afghanistan is directed. Btw sorry my knowledge. It was 24 not 14.

@madmusti I suggest you to leave this anti-foreigner (I found that, lol) thing. They have nothing to do with NATO bases in there. They had to be deployed in NATO Bases because. The authority had be led by NATO. 480 kilometers of southeastern air space is protected by those MIMs. It's all propaganda you heard.

Havelsan of Turkey and Boeing of the United States are in the process of developing a next generation, high altitude ballistic missile defence shield. It is envisaged that the system will be used by the U.S., Turkey and other NATO member states.
Maybe thats what they are waiting for?
