Ukraine only supplied 315 6TD-2 Engines for Pakistan Al Khalid from 2004-end of 2013.
So the above figure of 315 tanks till July 2014 is accurate.

No, they tried on early prototypes but it didnt work out. Hence they opted for ukrainian engine and transmission.

I think the reports of 550-650 Al Khalid (all versions) produced are more credible. I don't see why it would be otherwise; this is an excellent platform.

For many years, the Army does not seem to want to tell the Parliament, specially the Senate since 2013 at least, accurate figures on even the trivial stuff. Development and Production of Al Khalid II or an otherwise improved Al Khalid might have been accelerated post-2010.

If the ISI chief feels the need to blow off the Senate hearings, there must be just cause. We should probably let sleeping dogs lie.

Or maybe, the figures are correct. I am happy with all levels of mis-information if they will confuse the enemy. However, I am sure incoming new-build tank assignments to units is not as easily hidden as many other things. Maybe I should call RAW; their moles should have the correct info.

There were plans, but ZERO Al Khalid was produced in those years.
324 Al Khalid is accurate figure with 486 Al Zarrar.

Bhai only 7 Al Khalids were produced from 2009 - 2013.
When you have such a ''high production rate'' then 320 is most feasible number. All claims of 420, 470, 520, 550 Al Khalids are absurd and based upon mis information.
