What's new

Akinci & Aksungur and Turkish Unmanned Fighter Aircraft Program

BAYKAR has put forward a new military doctrine in the world with TB-2
BAYKAR to open new horizons in air combat through its advantages of unmanned combat

-- Supersonic speed mach 1,4
-- Aggressive maneuverability with delta canard and vertical stabilizers
-- Autonomy provided by artificial intelligence

how could a human win when an AI can withstand G forces that no human could survive ?

AI would win non stop eventually

not KIZILELMA block1 , but KIZILELMA block2 will be hell of war machine in the next decade to dominate the skies

when is KIZILELMA due to fly and what engine does it use?

Has Turkey developed and tested a FBW for an unstable aircraft before?
Yes, for Hürjet.

There were 2 main goals in the Hürjet project. a) Entering the commercial market by producing domestically manufactured trainer aircraft. b) Establishing an infrastructure to develop the technology required for TFX and MİUS.

Without Hürjet, TFX and MİUS could not exist.

I agree with the rest of the message, but this part is not quite right. The TSK did what you said here, not BAYKAR.

Turkey is manufacturing these drones like hot pan cakes

These Aksungar drones look a direct copy of Israeli Heron Drone

But they have limited perfomance as compare to Heron and sea guardian drones

Then Turkey has a hell of a lot riding on teh successful completion of the HurJets flight programme as there will be so many dependent programmes that need at this core - a tested FBW that can be used as the basis for new FBW for each of these programmes.

FBW for an unstable airframe are quiite hard to develop, just look at the initial history of the Eurofighter programme.

Aksungur have just entered service. So their performance will be known in few months. But they are good and close to Heron not far away. But more powerful engines will increase their performance

AKSUNGUR is far superior to HERON

HERON

Length : 8,5 m
Wingspan : 16.6 m
Max take off : 1.150 kg
Service ceiling : 33.000 feet

AKSUNGUR
Length : 12 m
Wingspan : 24 m
Max take off : 3.300 kg
Service ceiling : 40.000 feet

HERON : capacity 250 kg
AKSUNGUR : capacity 750 kg

HERON : Endurance : 52 hours
AKSUNGUR : Endurance : 60 hours

and AKSUNGUR to be the 2nd operational UAV to launch a sonobuoy. after American MQ-9B SeaGuardian

Totally agree with you sir

Although it is less in height due to design differences, it is roughly the size of the F-16 as volume.

Block 2 will have a twin-engine configuration. Probably because the fuselage will expand, the wingspan will be more. Probably the name will also be different. Obviously, KIZILELMA Blok-1 is a technological phase and the main goal is to reach the twin-engine supersonic fighter UCAV.

Blok-1 is a single-engine high subsonic LHD-capable unmanned jet. The specs are similar in many ways (typical payload cap, max speed, patrol taime, etc.) to the AV-8B's vertical takeoff configuration. Unlike, this aircraft does not have vertical take-off&land but will offer a completely unmanned solution in addition to some of the basic fifth generation features.
