Azad Jammu And Kashmir To Have Three World-class Museums
Government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Thursday signed an agreement with Pakistan Museum Association for capacity building and training of archeology department employees.
MIRPUR , :Government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Thursday signed an agreement with Pakistan Museum Association for capacity building and training of archeology department employees.
Official sources told APP that AJK government would establish three international standard museums in three divisions of the State. According to archaeological experts, this initiative was considered as major development for saving cultural and historic heritage.
Moreover, professional consultants are also going to be hired by the incumbent government for restoring and renovation of ancient Red Fort Muzaffarabad and Prime Minister AJK have already given the approval on the report presented to him concerning the renovation and retrofitting of Red Fort Muzaffarabad.
There were several prestigious and heritage items existing in AJK which might be exhibited for public and it can enhance tourism besides scenic views of AJK, sources added. It may be added that Prime Minister AJK had announced, few days ago to save cultural heritage in the State and initiatives to make state of the art museums are the tantamount to construe that commitment.
The State Archaeology department has also advertised to hire international level professional consultancy firms for the renovation and retrofitting of historic buildings in AJK.
