Death toll in Mohmand blasts rises to 106

PESHAWAR: The death toll from a suicide bombing and car bomb attack that devastated a busy market town Yakaghund in Mohmand Agency has risen to 106, officials said Sunday.

Two victims died overnight in hospital and a third body was recovered from debris as rescue workers in the town of Yakaghund continued to search rubble at the scene of one of Pakistan's deadliest attacks.

"We have recovered a body from the debris and two people who were critically injured has also died in hospitals in Peshawar," Mairaj Khan, a local official at the site, told media by telephone.

Local government official Rasool Khan confirmed the new death toll.

The explosions on Friday destroyed government buildings and shops and left victims buried under the rubble.

The attacks were the deadliest in Pakistan since a massive car bomb destroyed a market crowded with women and children in the northwestern city of Peshawar in October 2009, killing 125 people.

The Pakistani Taliban have already claimed responsibility for Friday's blasts, saying the target was a gathering of pro-government tribal elders.

A Taliban and Al-Qaeda-linked bombing spree across Pakistan has killed more than 3,500 people in three years since government troops besieged the Red Mosque in the capital Islamabad in July 2007.

nobody cares about this news because AHEMDIS RESIDE IN LAHORE SO THEY ARE IMPORTANT! as for mohamand agency who cares pathans kill pathans let's make jokes about this and ignore it! sad really sad none of you are following the thread on this topic!! but everyone is chipping in on fatwas about ahamedis!!

Ahmedis are not Muslims, believing in God is another thing. Christians believe in God, Jews do and many others and that does not make them Muslims. To be a Muslim you also have to believe that Prophet Muhammad (SAW) is the Last Prophet.

Dear, please tell where you get this condition for being Muslim from?

In first kalima ,,, which is the basic condition of becoming Muslim, all you need to say is "Muhammad (PBUH) is the Prophet of Allah". It means that you don't need to say: "Muhammad (SAW) is the Last Prophet".

So please tell us why you include a word in first Kalima which is not included in right/original wording..???

^ Ahmedies are the true Muslims.

Overall Muslim society has become sick/intolerant. This ill society does need fresh reforms which Ahmediyyat has introduced...!!!

:agree::agree:
m agree who dosen't follow the basic of islam he shouldn't call himself a muslim

What are basics of Islam? Were do you fare Ahmadis on this criteria?

Can we stop referring to traditions without context because others can post traditions as well to validate their claim.

@ K

There is no room reforms the way Ghulamism promotes it. Last time i checked Muhammad told his followers that Islam was complete in his lifetime.

What is out of context? Are there other differing traditions on what constitutes Islam? That would makes it pretty confusing on what makes a Muslim.

hmmm thats why i don't really care about traditions because they are confusing unless you have all list of references to make it worthwhile to discuss. wasay do you know the chronological order or the context on which that tradition was based on..unless you have something of interest, i really don't want to engage upon a few lines you copy pasted.

hmmm. more time legitimizes things. So then think of next 1500 years. If Ahmediyyat survives it will get as good legitimacy as any other true religion.

In the matter of only 130-150 max years, ahmediyyat has assumed the form of a world wide community from just a local group.

Inshallah You will not see Qadiyaneet after the next ten years...around the Globe....They will be wiped out alongwith their masterz soon:sniper::pakistan::pdf:

Dont bring the Sunni - shia BS here get it straight in your mind.

We are not discussing this here because it does not matter if you are shia or a sunni when becoming a PM or President in Pakistan.

You guys have some serious mental illness that leads you to poke your nose into our Internal matters.

If i ask you few questions about the same thing you wont be able to answer yet you want your comments to be considered.

Rana Bhagwandass was once our Chief Justice and he was a Hindu which means the the Positions to this level are available to non Muslims but an islamic state cannot be run by a Non Muslim & thats the reason for it.

Great post bro....cheerz ...

Chief Justice Munir and Justice M R Kayani did not think so. Read the Munir report if you will. When there was no constitutional restriction on non-Muslims holding the title of the Head of State, the people of the country were still Muslims and they had different ideas about a muslim majority state and a theocracy.

Since the term Islamic State has been abused so wonderfully by people, I'll chose Nusrat Pasha's very brief words (since most people do not have the patience to read history):-

The ultimate glory of Islam is not the so called “Islamic State” that supposedly existed over the ages. Strictly by definition, the “Islamic State” functions either under the direct supervision of the Prophet or a rightly guided Khalifa (Spiritual Successor) of the Prophet. Thus in the truest sense of the word, the Islamic State came into being with the migration of the Holy Prophet to Madina, when the Holy Prophet himself began administering the affairs of the state, as its Cheif Executive and ceased to exist with the death of Hazrat Ali. 12 years of the Prophet’s stay in Medina, followed by 30 years of Khilafat-e Raashida – that makes a total of 42 years of the “Islamic State”. If we were to believe that the Islamic State continued and carried on during periods of the subsequent dynasties of monarchs who were incidentally Muslim, we would be intellectually obliged to accept Yazid as a Khalifa and his repressive regime as Islamic and his atrocities as doings of an Islamic State.

Please provide the reference from Quran of this ayat so I can read offline. I'm now totally confused on what makes a Muslim. The traditions give one definition, Quran according to you says something different. Which is one to believe? However after you provide the reference it may become clearer.

That makes you rather unique, doesn't it? Traditions are an important source of what Islam is, no? Perhaps it can be said you are not a Muslim as you do not believe in traditions? What credibility do you have left now?

Since you don't believe in traditions what is it that quran says on the definition of a Muslim, something on the lines..'A Muslim is one who...'?

Please provide something clear, that is not open to interpretation. There must be a definition of a Muslim somewhere in the authentic text from 1400 years ago.
