I take offence to that statement as I have Afghan roots, my great grandfather moved from Kabul to Karachi in the mid to late 1800s.

I actually disagree, sometimes people don't realize what they are saying could hurt other people unintentionally. So its better to atleast let them know and maybe they will mend their ways or correct themselves.

But if they continue thats when you just ignore them and move on, atleast you did your part.

I think its good Pakistani Pashtuns here spread this knowledge. I am sure many of the guys annoyed at Afghans are not making their statements on Afghans to hurt Pakistani Pashtuns. It is simply a lack of knowledge that many Pakistani Pashtuns have very recent Afghan ancestry. So by pointing this out you can spread knowledge, because I doubt any one of them wants to hurt the sentiments of Pakistani Pashtuns or are acting with malice towards Pakistani Pashtuns. The behavior of Afghanistan as a state in recent decades has many of us riled up of course, but it is naturally no reason for us to have a go at your ancestors.

With regards to the topic, Sami is a serial liar, and even if he were a several generations down descendent of some king, big deal! I judge him by who he is, and for me he is an item people keep in toilets and fill up with water to wash their backsides with.

For a film , he has fabricated his lineage. He is claiming royal linage from Barakzai dynasty but the person he is mentioning to be his great grandfather is Ahmad Jan whose full name was "Hakim Ahmad Jan Khan Hindi" , obviously he was man of Indian descent.

I don't know but what if just for the sake of freely available alcohol.. this guy changed his nationality? I don't see any other reason..

Afghan now is a nationality from which we recognize,Tajiks,Uzbaks,Hazars,Pashtuns,Gujjars and about 9 other groups living in territory Known as Afghanistan.
I haven't seen any Tajik from Tajikistan or Uzbak from Uzbekistan and Turkman from Turkmenistan claiming to be an Afghan just because there are members of his nationality living in Afghanistan.
And then there are some Pakistani folks who are born in Pakistan raised in Pakistan there family working and living in different parts of Pakistan but still they would like to call themselves member of another nationality WHY?
Because some old poet said it centuries ago?
How many Americans calling themselves Irish or Germans?
In ww2 40% of American Army soldiers were having German roots.
Once whole of Pakistan was part of Durranis Empire,what next Peshawar,Lahore,Kasur where never liberated my mighty Afghans,once captured by Sikhs,then handed to Brits and they did nothing.
Kabul accepted Durand line and then signed Anglo-Afghan Treaty of 1919
Giving away 60% Pashtun population in Brits slavery.
Now there are people's who want us to make kabul our capital and accept Ghani or karzai as our Lord,isn't it?
Afghanistan has claim till Attock on base of pashtun population,irony is that kabul sold these all pashtuns to Brits,but now when they are free and at least eating there bread then they remembered.
Now tell me,you are well versed in Pashtun history wasn't that Namak harami with 60% pashtuns,Punjabis,sindhis,kashmirs and balochs by kabul,when they abounded us all in front of sikhs and sold us all to brits?

To you and anyone else thinking that i am just another arrogant Punjabi ranting against Pushtoons, here are a few details that you might find interesting.

I was born in Taxila which is right on the border of Punjab and KPK and heavy Pathaan population. I have ALWAYS admired them for their hospitality and courage and know MANY of them to be much more patriotic than most of the Punjabis or Sindhis!! THIS IS A FACT AS WELL. Just to tell you about my personal attitude towards Pathans, my best friend is a Pathaan from Swat. We were born in neighboring homes and are still best friends despite following totally different professions, living in separate cities and now even in different countries. What is funny here is that he is from Yousafzai tribe and still i have not seen many people who hate Afghans as much as he does. According to him "these scums have brought shame to us Pakistani pathaans and Muslims"

So if anyone of you thinks that i am against Pathans then sorry to say, you are wrong.

I am sorry if my words hurt your feelings, That was not intentional. Trust me, i hold NOTHING against Pakistani Pathans. They are some of the best people i have know in my life (having spending 26 years in taxila)

HOWEVER, non of my personal love and admiration to countless patriotic brave Pakistani pathans change the fact, YES, THE FACT, that Afghans are known back stabbers and have always worked to undermine Pakistan's interests. Since our independence, these Afghans have conspired against us, thanks to Allah they never had enough power and thanks to there arrogance and ignorance, they never had the unity to attack us but other than that they have always attacked our interests. Pick up any chapter of history and you will see it for your self.

No, i am clear about you. You were talking against people of Afghanistan, of every ethnicity i presume. Thats why i posted a picture of Hazara girl in Pakistan Air force and asked you why she is not what you call "namak haram" if every person of Afghan lineage (from Afghanistan) is inherently namak-haram or whatever. You generalization even does not hold true regarding family of Adnan Sami , as his father served in Pakistan Air Force and Foreign affairs, did namak-halali and disagreed with views of his son till the end. Now this namak-harami and namak-halali business is relative. In the same manner a person with roots from Afghanistan serving Pakistan might be namak-haram for Afghanistan and vice versa.

Your hostile views towards Afghans and Afghanistan are purely out of Watani nationalism, and their hostile views towards Pakistanis and Pakistan are also out of watani nationalism.
