Abhijit Iyer Mitra Vs Ajai Shukla: Big Border Face-off Over Ladakh Standoff

Abhijit sounds much more convincing in this interview.

At the end of the day the border is not demarcated and the perception of LAC is different for both sides. So both sides can claim intrusion at the same time while the other would say there is no intrusion. India's hasn't lost anything, just seems like the disputed area between the two sides is where the Chinese have sent large number of troops. That disputed area was never with India, it was disputed so there is no question of India losing anything. India will have them retreat if they haven't already. This is not the first time this is happening.
By saying India hasnt lost anything wont hide the reality. The reality is India has been penetrated deeply upto 60 km.

Read about him. He was very "anti national"
Nah, every story have two sides. He was close to Hindu Mahasabha too, I won't say with confidence that he would be anti-Modi through and through.

Faiz Ahmed Faiz was done dirty by the Pakistani establishment. Many of our educated Bhaiyyas like Habib Jalib and Manto were done dirty during the purges of the military. That's when the rot spread in. I feel East Bengal would not have separated had these Aligarh bhaiyyas been in power.

So many legendary Bhayyas including Sir Syed Ahmed Khan. That's why probably there is a resentment against them or other successful Mohajirs even in Pakistan. No one likes an entire race of towering intellectuals. It's pure human jealousy, nothing else.

EDIT: I forgot to mention I had the chance to meet Mr. Javed Akhtar once. It was at a common party. He was pleasant enough to interact and that left a great impression on me. How many of us can recall the couplets of Mir Taqi (even Ghalib said of him, "aglay zamane mein koi Meer bhi thaa".) Javed Akhtar has memorized stuff like that. I had asked him why he even took interest in such old poems. He was somewhat displeased with my question: of course I didn't press further.

His betaa, Farhan, is a complete nalayak in comparison.

Funny that you agreed with Abhijieet on the F-16 but won't agree with him now.
To claim a mig21 engine piece as that of an f16 was just plain embarrassing, even for Abhijeet. You could see the facepalm he did against his collective countrymen. Even sanghees were sickened by the failure of sanghee media that day. I believe Christine Fair underwent a similar reaction to the incompetence on display.

No man. I've lost respect for SRK and Aamir. Weasels. If anything I've gained mad respect for Deepika Padukone, for when she showed up at the JNU protest. And the other B list celebs speaking out against CAA like Dia Mirza, Vidya Balan and Farhan Akhtar. The ones who can make a difference with their statements are all awfully quite like Priyanka Chopra and Akshay Kumar. Privileged cunts.
Padukone's was a public stunt for movie Chapaak which she later clarified as 'solidarity with acid attack victims' (the JNU attackers were rumored to have used acid), she never showed any solidarity in terms of ideology and more importantly, she did not said anything on Jamia police violence or even CAA protests.

None if them were Bhayyas, yes they wrote in Urdu but two of them were Punjabi and Manto being proud of his Kashmiri origins, having said to Nehru as a fellow Kashmiri 'Kashmiri is a synonym of beauty'.

It seems some Indians cannot bring themselves to accept the reality that China has actually taken up to 60 sq km area from India.

A debate between two Indian Analysts, taking different meanings from the same maps.
Confused!! Don't be, you are talking about Indians.

Abhijet is the same guy, which once embarrassed this presenter by correcting him that the footage he was claiming to be of F 16 is actually Indians Mig 21.

Second funny thing is that now Indians are crying over Chinese controlling the flow of river water, and diverting it, claiming it to be against international norms.
We know that they regularly issue threats of water diversion against Pakistan.

Anchor:BREAKING BREAKING what we have on the screen is EXCLUSIVE video indian troops taking back INDIAN territory Literally bulldozing the Chinese troops..Watch. that kick..

Abhijit : AHHH .i dont think its entirely accurate the guy placing that kungfu kick is wearing darker shade pants which belongs to Chinese border patrol.Indians wear lighter shade pants...

There was no need for him to point it out. He could have kept shut if he wanted to.

In this case, he is backing his opinion with thorough research and analysis of satellite images. The same have been corroborated by other observers from third countries too. It doesn't confirm anything but does give rise to a debate as to what is the level of incursion ? is there is still an incursion or has it been pushed back ? What are the ongoing negotiations about etc.

Punjabi speakers too - those who had there native tongue as Punjabi?

A lot of the migrants into Punjab were not just Punjabis but also Haryanvi, Mewari and other Urdu speaking dialects from Northwest India (grouped as Ranghars/Rajputs). They merged into the Punjabi identity because they were outnumbered in Punjab but they held onto the Muhajir identity in Karachi because they were the majority there.

I know but those three were Punjabi through and through.

Abhijit Iyer Mitra

@Joe Shearer

Is this guy one of your own? He's a real lapdog of the Sanghis, an insult to all columnists. Just admit it, he's one of you Bengalis "Mitra" is correct right? I thought you guys were liberals. But there's that Iyer part? Looks like a mutt of the two races.o_O

He refers to himself as a Tamilian on Twitter. Not that it makes any difference, but since you were curious.

@Joe Shearer

I can't speak for them. I'll let them decide. But there is still a distinction between the Lahnda speaking pastoralists of Punjab and the migrants from erstwhile Punjab state and Rajasthan. The migrants still form a big chunk of the business class in Punjab. We have some family friends in Labore from Ambala. Vohras. They still vaguely hold onto their roots in a way.
