Probably 20 years ago, I read an article in a very popular magazine. It was a life story of a Santhaal professor in Shantiniketan. She was a brilliant academic and had excellent potential. But in the end she chose to end her life. I was too young then to understand the reasons and certain implications. But 20 years after, when I recall the article, it helps me understand one thing, that "Nothing has changed." The ghost will haunt us for eternity. It's never going to end.

If the definition of Racism includes discrimination, unfairness, prejudice,hatred, favoritism, then I have to say sadly,yes we have been racist from generation to generation. I appreciate your nationalism but again don't agree with the view.

These qualities exist in every country out there..including the west *gasp , the horror*... Racism strictly includes discrimination against another race..and that DOES NOT happen in India .. Stop with this self flagalisation and demonising an entire country . i lived in Delhi for 8 years..that attack was not a Rascist attack..it is the sensationalist media...nothing else...

Nobody is demonizing the entire country. You have not been attacked in 8 years. That proves what? One people from Manipur and another from TamilNadu might come up with stories about their assault in two months they spent in Delhi. Personally, I have seen such situation and mockery when I spend four years in a multi cultural institution. So, sorry. Personal experiences at least to me does not hold any value.

And why bringing the west again here? I am an Indian. I will see what evils my society have. Why should I go to other countries for justifications which again makes no sense?

They happen to everyone and not just N.E Southing Indians( i am a south Indian by the way) .. These attacks and name calling are more to do with at the moment rage... or are you gullible enough to think that really believe S.I and N.E are inferior .. Now, what's wrong in disagreeing when I have some justifications behind my statement? Don't we act like a racist when it comes to choosing a bride in terms of skin color? Don't we act like a racist when again going for a family tie up in terms of our birth lineages? What's wrong if these things are racist to me? If you think disagreeing means I have to leave the country I seriously doubt your maturity. If you are so intolerant better don't argue with me. I am not good in that kind of conversations

Nah. If you disagree with him, then you have get out of the country. Screw the constitution.

Again, you can not suggest someone if he/she has certain views and opinions which do not conforms with yours. I might be wrong but you should come with proper justification too. Rubbish. To equate flu with AIDS. To equate normal everyday day to day frictions to pathological hatred. If I use violence (slap) to discipline my nieces so that they correct themselves and do well in exams, I become a racist? A criminal?
