A Prime Minister must have immunity

Fix what is broken instead of mending what is not.

A system is made up of multiple parts. If one part if faulty (Judiciary), you should fix that. By modifying the other components that were working fine, you'll create anomalies that didn't exist before.

Yeah? Fix how precisely?

The judiciary in Pakistan has reached a point of "un-fixable".

So a currently absconding ex-PM who was booted out of the PM ship for not being able to give accountability of where he acquired his assets should have been given immunity?

Do you agree?

Immunity means immunity. If there were such a law, he should have been given immunity as well.

A sitting prime minister if involved in corruption, should first be removed by impeachment and then brought before the court. Just like the president.

If you think I support selective justice/injustice, you are mistaken.

Limited immunity Yes

Complete immunity definitely not… imagine he can kill anyone he likes whilst he is in the office… there must be someone to nab him however I do agree that immunity of corruption charges from the past cases should be allowed

Yes, something like this.

But coming to the topic, yes, Prime Ministers should be and I believe are protected from day to day litigations to some extent in Pakistan, otherwise the govt won't function.

They are not.

Just last year, Qazi Easy Paisa was calling the Prime Minister to the court for addressing a gathering of lawyers because "he" wanted to know where the funds came from to organize this event.

This is a joke! On one hand you wash away 10s of billions of Rs corruption cases with a strike of a pen and on the other hand you are calling the prime minister to the court just to get some ego boost!

This can not be allowed.

Immunity is a terrible idea. Imran is old and will die. Someone terrible will eventually come to that post.

There should not be any immunity for anyone including cheap banadrs

No immunity to anyone, even the immunity to President to be withdrawn.
Last time criminal like Zardari was hiding behind immunity as President of the state and now he is planning again for the same.
There must be some strong system to filter Judges, Beauraucrates, Politicians, and the establishment to keep out the filth and black sheep.

Buddy, I know how the Pakistani ruling class is. In English they say 'cut from the same cloth'. Why would the judiciary and the military be significantly better than the political class and the bureaucracy?? The Establishment and the Judiciary have played and outsized role in Pakistan's current problems! So why do we even assume that some knight in shining armor or some Salahuddin is going to arise from this society?? There are none as far as leadership is concerned. The young ones rise--as they did after the 1988 elections--giving so much hope and then they too turned out to be the same old. It is in the Pakistani political DNA.

The best course for Pakistan is to keep a low profile in geopolitics, educate its population, and make the best of what is available. Don't expect miracles or revolutions or Messiahs. Because the ground conditions simply don't exist as of now.

That is the right question to ask. So your question in the forum should be, how can we fix judiciary which apparently is unfixable. Giving immunity to Prime Minister might solve it for PM but same dysfunctional judiciary would continue to harm ministers and members of the parliament constituting government.
