What's new

95% of all Hindu temples in Pakistan have been destroyed or converted since 1990

Report is talking about properties and temples belonging to Hindus who migrated after partition, ETPB was formed and control of those properties were given to it (as there was no owner left). So, it's not a rocket science to know that ETPB sold, leased or let encroachments happen on what was under board's possession. Yeah - corruption is too high in Pakistan but not at that scale that a govt. entity will start selling or leasing properties belonging to Pakistani nationals. :pop:

Nope. All other reports too talk about just 300 to 400 temples in Pakistan at the time of partition.

Most of these temples must have crumbled on their own since they were abandoned during partition. No one was left to take care of them. On both sides of the border, this was the fate of many Mandirs, Gurdwaras and Masjids.

Blog by an Indian :coffee:

Anyway fact is there were over 400 temples and other lands & properties belonging to Hindus who migrated from Pakistan after partition under control of ETPB. The ones who are in Pakistan have the ownership of their properties. GoP didn't took their lands and gave to ETPB. Rest you can continue to believe on whatever float your boat

LOL. As usual in a hurry, you did not read that the blog entry was a copy of a Pakistani site.

The messy state of the Hindu temples in Pakistan - Middle East Transparent

Edit: I think it is a Pakistani site since it is in urdu or arabic. I cannot read the script, so if I am mistaken, please excuse.

Since when Pakistan became Middle East?

It is rather strange for Middle East to be concerned about temples in Pakistan, so I presume it is a Pakistani who wrote this article for a Middle Eastern site. Anyway, the source is all Islamic. No Hindutva had a hand in producing this report.

Some random person writing on some random site and giving wrong figures (300 temples while ETPB alone had possession of over 400) while giving examples of temples which are under ETPB control should be considered authority. As i said whatever float your boat.

Lots of random people saying similar things could mean a high probability of it being the truth. Even wikipedia shows only dozens of temples and not hundreds of them.

Ok BiBi - you are right - 3 million Hinuds go into just 20 temples or maybe they don't worship at all. :pop:

Tell me more about the Christians and Muslims who escaped India and took asylum in Canada? If it is one of your daily farts, then dont bother replying..

You need ME to tell you more about your citizens who fled your country? That's pretty sad.

Yea, I do because I do not know about Christians and Muslims settled in Canada fearing religious prosecution.. As I said, if is it one of your daily farts, you dont have to reply..

Partition was not Hindus Idea.. It was a brain child of Jinnah.. You opted to share his dream and moved from India.. You had a choice to remain here in your hometown and you decided to migrate from here. So why blaming others for your mistake in choosing?
How was my fathers and grandfathers and my moving from Lucknow my fault rather than the Hindutvadis who ran people like me and @waz off. Anyway we can't blame all Hindus but it is clear as daylight that there is inaction against the RSS while strict punishment is given to Afzal Guru
Offcource there are relatives of Pakistanis here in India and always wanted peace between nations and its not Indians who claimed that we do not share same culture too..

I would say some practices are similar but culture is often defined by religion. We have a lot of religious differences, for example cow slaughter.

The blame of that goes to Pakistanis only.

The blame on us is, particularly we who moved for not integrating the muslims of that region. There are many, especially older muslims who are staunchly Pakistani. For example my nana who is now dead but was a promoter and ally to Pakistan. He married almost every daughter to people who moved from those parts, he was such an idealist of Pakistan.

The blame does not fall on Pakistan but on Pakistanis. We should have integrated muslims left there and treated them as our citizens instead of Indian ones. That is where we failed. However Pakistan gave us a home and asylum. That is more than we need. Now its our turn to serve the nation. We should have a policy of giving citizenship to anyone that moves to Pakistan, regardless of even religion race or other identity.

As I said, Muslims in India had a choice to move to Pakistan. Some choose to move and some not.. You have every right on people who moved to Pakistan but Indian muslim's are our and not the responsibility of Pakistan.

Having family from both sides of the control line I strongly disagree. These people voted for Pakistan, for the AIML in 1946 elections which was vouching for a independent Pakistan. My nana was one of them. You can't think I will ignore their sacrifice to form Pakistan? There is a clear link between us and Muslims left there, particularly those who believe their regions should have gone to Pakistan.

And if Pakistanis think killing their own countrymen or destroying temple in their country in response to what happening in India, then as a nation you failed your countrymen..

I think one thing being from a minority family that moved to where we were a majority is that I can feel the pain and anguish of minorities. Rest assured we will do everything in our power to ensure Pakistani Hindus don't feel how my parents felt in our own homes (which is Lucknow and other regions)

Pakistanis are much more liberal than they seem and we will protect Pakistani Hindus because actually we went through the same thing.

Please you cannot protect your own citizens from sectarian and other forms of terrorism.. People like Mujahid are only living in a dream world and there are Indian muslims like @Ejaz_R or @The_Showstopper will tell you otherwise

They are not living in dream world. They know a major reality. If another gujarat or babri (Mumbai) riots occur, the only safe place for them to be and that will help them out is Pakistan. Again there is and always will be a link between Pakistan and muslims left on the other side.

Thats the main point.. You cannot blame on other country's for your country's failure to protect your countrymen..

Well India shining has been a good way to bury the mistakes and problems India has caused. The Indians invaded Hyderabad in operation polo. Before partition that city had 60% muslims ad 40% Hindus. India played its cards so that very little land would go to Pakistan which was exactly what happened and a lot of Muslims remained trapped there. My parents moved much later after 1947 partition. You invaded Assam, Kashmir and Hyderabad. All regions that were to go to Pakistan.

This is not the fault of Pakistan but clearly India's fault. I am not blaming another country for our failure to protect our citizens. I am only painting a picture which is clear and shows that India has still much to do in regards to treating minorities fairly and they didn't give all muslims a chance to move.

By taking our land and properties India only caused itself to be hated. India didn't give much choice to people except to migrate. RSS even today is responsible for some of the worst practices. No action against them but hey lets hang Afzal Guru

islamologic: India destroyed babri masjid so we have to punish all our Hindus by destroying their Mandirs.

Don't blame Pakistan. Don't blame Muslims. Blame goes squarely to Zia-ul-Haque and Wahabi brigade!
