Islam is not private matter and Erodgan policies are doing nothingErdogan's politics are actually making people turn on religion. A real politician doesn't have to use religion as a card. People who do are usually tricking the people and running away with filled pockets from the national treasury. Religion is a private matter.
You really dont know anything about Ataturk's reforms he did not wiped out Turkish identity and language its opposite he restored it , what he wiped out was Ottoman identity and language.I know enough about him to know that he tried to wipe off the Turkish identity. Changing the script of Turkish language, completely cutting off Islamic roots in Turkish culture.
BTW, before you go off on a rant, being Anti-Ataturk does not mean I am anti-turkey. I love Turkish people.

Just look at China go, one can obviously get a lot more done once not clouded by false beliefs.i hope it reaches 0% in India, the less superstitious people are...the better country is...
I completely agree with you. Religions are inflexible and clouds people's judgement and many times gives way to irrationality.Just look at China go, one can obviously get a lot more done once not clouded by false beliefs.
but spirituality is not a bad thing and not alien to Islam or other faiths, and it's not incompatible with progress.
it's the fundamentalists we must be wary off.
Every Turk I have met has been a "muslim" yet goes out drinking, picking up women, taking drugs etc haha.Just had a religious discussion/contradiction with 2 of my Turkish friends when we gathered on Easter day amongst friends.2 hours later while we were almost arguing on it ,it occured to us that we're having a totally hypocritical discussion because we were doing it while having industrial quantities of whisky and beer between us-me on Easter day,them....well...being muslims.
