What's new

5% people hold 64% of Pakistan’s farmland

Meri jan, none of them are slaves. They take 30% of the cut, and the landowner pays taxes on top. It's their own mismanagement that the majority of muzeras are not doing well.

30% cut? taxes? Are you talking about Pakistan? :what:

Karr hee na lein'. Do you think people part with their property so easily?

Do you want another war, on top of what is going on already! :D

@LoveIcon @jaibi baatein karna band karo. Start a socialist revolution and liquidate the zamindars.

Dude, I and everyone I know pays that. I don't know what's the situation in interior Sindh, however, my hands have always been clean. And btw, I'm no small zameendar by any definition of the word!

Do you think the slaves who work on lands of them will ever vote against them?

Well it is the catch 22 situation. But when there is a will there is always a way. If we cant change the mindset of people, we have to push implementation of article 62, 63 followed by voting in new blood. Otherwise we should learn to live in slavery.

Hype, simple question?

Do you stand by a previous statement of your's, made on BD section on a certain thread? That Pakistan was made for the feudals by feudals? You are seriously telling me that there is nothing wrong with feudalism at all?

Challo, me being the bigger person (as a zameendar), will now leave this thread and go out do something productive with my time. Rest of you muzeras can keep complaining and bitc*ing about how to bring in land reforms. Nothing would have changed when I'm back from *finishing* all my worldly jobs, that require my immediate attention!

Ciao

Yes, I absolutely do stand by it. Pakistan and India DO NOT NEED land reforms, they need tax and labor reforms and the will to implement them.

Dude - the fact is that governments in Pakistan are made at deras in villages and brought down in streets of cities and this cycle will continue in foreseeable future. The day people of rural Sindh & Punjab sent the son of their fallow "Mazara/Haari" into parliament will be marked as birth of democracy in Pakistan.

Agriculture tax revenue is less than 1% of Pakistan's direct taxes

Nehru played the masterstroke in 1950s. By implementing land reforms, he forced the feudal lords to turn into businessmen and thus helped in the rise of the great Indian middle class whose size is more than the population of entire US(world's 3rd largest populous country).:victory:

I know, what a shame! As I said earlier, labor and tax reforms, nothing else. What you guys are proposing is preposterous and unworkable. It's like instead of controlling 90% electricity theft by all the industries in Punjab, you go ahead and increase the tariffs of normal citizens to make up for it. What a bunch of losers.
