FC31 is more than enough, J20 will be a overkill. Actually I think J10b is good enough to deal with them.

To be honest, PAKFA is not a successful design. India doesn't have much choice in 5th gen induction. Russia tags India 7 billions USD for TOT of PAKFA, Barathis can't afford it.

IAF does not want PAK-FA as it is not a stealth aircraft, so I do not understand why Russia thinks India will pay 7 billion dollars even if the Indians had the money.

PAK-FA is a just a stealthified SU-27 like the F-15SE was a stealthified F-15.

Think their best choice now is the F-35 but that will be dominated by FC-31s that Pakistan and BD are likely to get post 2025.

Whichever way you look at it the future of Indian air-force looks dismal.

'Dominate' ? Even with 3-4 times your defense budget, your former compatriots are struggling to find funds for inducting two squadrons of J 10.
