The Reporter mixed up .
The Correct Figure Is (According to my sources )
Terrorists Killed = 120 (in a week)
Soldiers Martyred = 25 ( in a week , out of which 17 were beheaded after kidnapping)
My question to people who have been there, done it. (Icarus etc)
Don't they Taliban take their dead people along with them after a fire has ended (PA stops it op for some reason)?
Or does PA always finish the job such that they don't have enough time to take the dead with them or all are killed?

The PA is well trained in conventional warfare, but where CI ops are concerned, the Taliban have the upper hand - better knowledge of the terrain, the advantage of 'mingling with the crowd', hit and run tactics, less requirement of an administrative tail and a high level of motivation due to continuous propaganda and brainwashing.how can a bunch of yaboos always inflict such heavy casualties on a trained army?
Ambush of long range patrols, most likely during night. But kidnapping can also happen due to the overwhelming strength of the Taliban attacking and capturing a thinly held post. And how did the kidnapping happened in an active war zone where soldiers are being backed up by airborne and further ground assets?

The Operation was a Reaction of Kidnapping , More then 600 Terrorists Crossed the border & Assaulted a Check post of Army , 17 were Taken Hostage & then later beheaded , 600 Terrorists Captured 3 peaks & Operation was launched , which continued for 1 week .
First and foremost, our condolences go out to the friends and families of the brave soldiers who lost their lives in this cross border incursion. Our nations continue to pay the highest price in fighting terrorism. We’ve already lost thousands of brave soldiers in fighting these terrorists on both sides of the border. It only makes sense for us to work together and negate the threat posed by these terrorists. We restate what Richard Hoagland, the charge d ’affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad, said recently: “In this dangerous world where terrorists can strike at any moment, we must all work together – Pakistanis and Americans alike – because we have a strong mutual interest in defeating terrorism.”

Are you referring to the incident where 3 peaks were supposed to be held by a Capt (??), and due to shortage of manpower, he captured only 2, and left the highest and farthest peak un-attended, thus giving the terrorists a opportunity?
17 were kidnapped then? All 3 peaks were overrun rather than just one?
